I just bought my car 3 weeks ago... I bought it knowing that it was not running and did not have any spark. So I have been trying to figure out what the problem could be. The guy before me tried to switch out the dist. with no luck and when I got it I changed the cap and rotor and then I tried it again. I still had no spark. I then bypassed the spark plug wires and still had no spark. So today I did the computer test that you can find on DSM.org and the test came back that the computer is fried.... So I want to be sure that the computer really is dead, and see if there is any cheap way to get myself a new computer or rebuild the one that I have now.... Any other ideas?

Tell me your ECM number, I have a 1.8 sohc computer laying around I don't need. If the numbers match we will look into giving it to you. Actually, if your not automatic it probably won't work. Let me know.

nope I'm a manual, but my # is: MD159561. I have already pulled it and I'm searching for the best price on the internet, but it would be awesome if the numbers matched... (I'm a little low on funds) Thanks

Naw, it won't work if its manuel. As for your computer, I would look into a Japanese engine place. That would help you for parts. I found one at the A1 Junkyard near me, that was pretty cool. So you can find them around, for CHEAP. Anyways, check your junkyards/japanese part stores. Later, sorry that I can't help. Just has to be auto for it to work ;)

Yeah that's cool... I did a search on the internet and found a couple from $99.00 to about $250. So they are out there... Thanks though
