I am planning on purchasing a 4g63T for my eclipse, i have a 95 Eclipse RS and im wondering if any of you have ever made that kind of a swap, if you have, 1. was it hard ? 2. how long and how much did it cost? 3. did it require alot of moddifications ? or was it a swap and drop deal ? and finally, where is a good place to buy them from ? thats half way affordable, thx

Ok im going to do it before anyone else does.

#1 your not just going to "swap" in that motor, your looking at purchasing more than just that motor.

#2 would be smarter to (hate to say this) sell your car and get a gst/gsx.

#3 why not just turbo your car with forged internals because that way you would probably spend the same amount as you would buying the 4G63 motor and swapping it into your car.

If anyone has anything else to say about what i said then only other thing i can think of is.... USE SEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's right, you will have to get the tranny, axles, PCM, all kinds of extra stuff besides just the engine. It would be easier to just build your current engine and turbo it. In all honesty most people havent attempted the swap because there was no real reason to try since we have aftermarket turbo kits, but in the long run you will spend atleast 3-4 grand just to get a little faster than stock GST performance. If you put that money into your 420a you will be a lot faster than the average GST or X

The 420A is a great motor turbo the biatch!, from what i researched, i would take a 420a over the 4g63T (only my opinion) any day, thats what i'm in the process of doing, good luck!

thx for the info guyz, but my car has 125,000 miles on it, i mean im going ot have to replace the engine very soon anywayz, so i guess ill just save some money and buy a new 420a crate motor and drop the beast in there and get a hahnracecraft stage 2 turbo for it, well thx again , ne thing you guyz can help me with would be appreciated ! thx

You only have 150,000 on your motor? Mine has 180,000 and it still runs like a champ, no smoke, doesnt burn oil, or anything. I give mine hell on the daily (shift at 6200 cause I love the sound of the engine reving high) to so unless you sit in traffic on the rev limiter you still have a couple years on that motor...
