Awhile back I replaced my 02 sensor in my 1.8 liter 1992 Laser.

And that is where the problems began. The original 02 sensor had 2 wires. Every place that I went to to purchase a new one, they tried to sell me one that only had a single wire. So eventually a guy at autozone said that maybe these were generic, so he talked me into ordering a $45 o2 sensor.

When it finally arrived, Suprise. Only 1 wire.

So the same man that talked me into buying it said that I should just tap into the signal wire and just tape the end of the other wire. So that is what I done. I read up on my haynes manual to figure out what wire to tap into and hooked it all up.

Since then I have been having idle issues. I suspecte the sensor to be the problem, so I unplugged it and went for a drive and the car runs exactly the same. I am now pretty sure that the sensor doesn't actually work.

Does anyone know why I am unable to find a 2 wire 02 sensor? Or have any other advice here.

Thanks.

I work at NAPA and the only one's we can order are one wire ones. I can get an OEM one for 43.99 and it has a connector that just plugs into the stock location.
