Ok so I'm trying to tune my 2g awd with a safcII and pocket logger. The problem is I hear it is best to tune with a 3rd gear pull so I take out my od so car would stay in 3rd but every time I give it wot my car downshifts to 2nd and it kills my log. My question is how do you guys tune your autos using a logger? At what speed will the trans stay in third and not downshift into second gear?

did you ever try leaving it in like D2.and just duin a pull from there..if the cars in d2 it wont or shouldnt shift at all

you could leave it in d2 but when you upshift to d3 you will be at about 5k rpms so it kind of kills your view of your whole power band. I want from about 3k rpm to 7k so I could have a complete log. :thumb:

If you think about it, you will never be in those rpm's anyways since you are infact an automatic. So I would tune with the kickdown. Since that will be the gears and rpm's you will be using when you are racing. No need to tune 3k rpm's in 3rd if you will never be floored at that rpm in that gear.

Ok went out and made a log to show you guys what I'm talking about

Looks very good. Running a shave rich, Could lean it out a shave but other than that the timing looks ok and everything. You want a steady climb in timing.

I know I'm running rich but for my setup I souldn't. I have a b16g at 20psi with 510cc and I'm pulling 10% fuel on my high settings. But on my low settings I am only pulling 1%. With a 510cc at 20psi souldn't I be adding fuel to my high setting?
