Hopefully we'll be done Wednesday or so, man I cant wait. Here's a few pics from earlier today, after we got good and started:

Thats a Garrett t3 Super 60 .48A/R btw. As of now (an hour or so after taking pics) we have the fmic mounted, and working on the oil lines. Next will be the downpiping, fuel pump, and fmu stuff. Wish me luck! :dsm: :rocks:

Please tell me you didn't screw your Zex modual into your battery.....

Turbo is sweet! Very nice! how you plan on running your WG? Dumped into the DP or open? Mine is open... and the sound is a little anoying... I plan on running the pipe for it out the side of my front bumper and putting a 1" resonator on it to tone it down. Man, my car needs a lot of work...

Nah, the battery was actually in a fairly thick plastic case of some sort, and I mounted it to that. Im relocating the battery to the trunk though, so the ZexBox is going to have to get mounted on the firewall. The turbo is internally gated, I just didnt have the block off flange on the manifold when I took the pic.

I hope you got some internals because that some bigass IC piping and turbo for your first boost.

Thats actually my old intake pipe, just hadnt taken it off yet when I took the pic. The ic piping is 2.5", about average I guess.

It is a big turbo, but I dont think its too big, being .48a/r. Anybody around here running a Super 60 besides me?

I am. On my lawnmower.

Just kidding. Saw that your name was Brian, too, and I had to eff with you. While the pictures don't work for me (likely photobucket or some other site my workplace firewall blocks), it sounds like you're doing it yourself and that's applaudable. Keep up the good work. :thumb:

The pics arent anything much yet. Heck, Im just glad to finally be turbo-ing this POS. :thumb: Ive been wanting to do it since I joined this site, and now all thats between me and boost is a few more days and some good weather.

Well, its Wednesday. Im closer to being done than I was, but not nearly done yet. As you can see on the manifold, I have a bung for an external, which I decided to go with instead of the internal wastegate mod.

Thing is, that bung points my 38mm Tial straight up, and the hood would not close. So Im going to have to get an adapter plate made to point it down.

Plus, Im still having some fitment problems with the downpipe assembly. Hopefully this weekend, Ill be able to put oil back in it, and start it up. Wish me luck!

P.S. I kinda wanted that open dump sound anyway ^.^

la di da....I have the same turbo. it's t3h rox0rz w00t :p

dude.. the filter is still on that short ram.... and what does piping size have to do with internals? you can boost up to 15 on our cars with a supporting fuel system before things go plooie... but thats not a gurantee...

hahaha....don't worry bout him snoop :toobad:

I have a regular 60 trim, not the super. Close enough though:thumb:

I automatically liked you, since you talked turbo, and supported that with pics(evidence) of actually doing so. Unlike 90% of the members who say that they are 420At.:toobad:

Napkin..Seriously, please stop posting nonsense. For someone going to turbo their 420a you post more negative remarks than anyone I've seen. Like your previous one..Which had no truth. It was pretty clear that was still the intake pipe with the filter on it. Besides, I have that piping as my IC piping too(from my CAI).

Snoop it's good to see you back. Seems like you just stopped posting for awhile there..And you had told me you hadn't been on much. but latetly it seems like you have:thumb:

Goodluck with the rest of your install Rage, it's nice to see another joining the 420at club.
For the fuel pump, when you go to unscrew the line from the fitting on the pump housing, if you can't break the two loose there is another connection under the car, right in front of the rear passenger-side wheel. Just try to follow the line. Whatever you do, DON'T try and break the line loose if you can't, and end up twisting that metal line. if you do, you have to find a replacement. If you break it loose from under the car you need some tin snips and cut the metal alittle and fold it up to pull the hose out with the assembly. If you need more info on that PM me, I'll be more than happy to help.

Sorry this was so long Lol

X2 we miss the targa snoop

Got the fuel pump in, thanks a million crazy3! :rocks:

Gotta put the turbo back together, put the external wastegate and dump tube on + fab into the downpipe, hook up the oil lines, install the fmu, install the 450cc injectors I got today, crank her up, and tune the SAFCII. We're shooting for beginning of next week. Wish me some more luck! :dsm:

No problem man, I hope I helped you out.

Do you already have the oil pan tapped? If not go get a fitting braized onto it..

If you don't have your oil drained already, when you remove the oil sensor switch some oil will come out with it so be ready...Learned that the hard way:toobad:

Goodjob so far, seems like you really know what you're doing. Keep up the good work.

Do you already have the IC pipes cut and fitted? If not that will probably be your toughest most time consuming obstacle. And now that I look back, it wasn't really that bad.:thumb:

Keep us posted

Oil pan is tapped, but I need another tee for the gauge. And the IC piping is done and done. And it was a pain. Oh well, just a few more days!

450cc injectors, Walbro 255 fuel pump, OBX 12:1 fmu, SAFCII

you are going to have problems with the 450 injectors. your safc will not correct enough to get you running right. when your 12:1 fmu kicks in with 450's and a stock fpr you are going to be like 8.0:1 rich. if you are staying under 10psi i would not put those injectors in unless you get a sfmu or a better fuel computer like portfuler setup or msns.

yeah man, you'll foul out plugs like crazy, had the same problem with 370cc inectors. 9psi is the limit on on your stock injectors, but that should be good if your block is stock.

Looks real good by the way.

hang on the the 450cc's for when you get a rebuild kit

Lookin good man, good job:thumb:

I will hopefully be in your shoes in a couple weeks so I'm excited.

Quick question, turbo looks good in there, where did you get it from?

Hey Rage what kind of IC is that...What are the specs and how much was she?

Looks good.

You said you got the piping all done already, so be relieved. The worst part has passed :thumb: I'll hope and pray for smooth sailing from here on out for ya!

Again, keep us posted. and Goodluck

Here's an odd question, can I run those injectors if I leave out the fmu?

I got that turbo from www.thestreetsource.net

Got the intercooler as part of a kit that they have listed on ebay nowadays.

Specs: 30x7x2.8 intercooler, 25x7x2.8 core, 650 cfm @ 1.5 psi, 78% efficiency at 60mph.

Thanks guys!

Without an FMU, you'd just be using unnecessary amounts of fuel under vacuum. Then, you would end up running lean once you started to boost. You really need some way to directly control how much fuel is being released from them like the PortFueler or 034's EIC.

Ok thanks, Ill hang on to those for later then. Thanks for the advice everybody, man I love this board!

Actually, talk to slow boy racing about that one (running 450cc injectors without the fmu), According to their 420a kit, they can use 550cc injectors wihtout an FMU. Call them up, and find out how, then let us know what you get?
