Thermostat connections

Can anybody tell me what the the 2 or 3 connections to the thermostat housing on my 1g Eagle Talon (non-turbo)? I am trying to troubleshoot a sporadic overheating problem? My car will start to overheat and then return to normal temps. First it was the rad fans not turning on, now this, does it ever end? Ah well, I love my DSM. I think it might the water pump belt slipping, waterpump failure, or a thermostat getting stuck.

I have a small leak there somewhere around the thermostat, underneath somewhere. I'm having trouble pinpointing the exact location.
