I have a 90 eclipse gs n/t and i just bought an ebay intake and filter i figured it would come with an adapter for the MAF sensor well it didnt so i installed it with out it and ran the car the car runs fine except at low rpm's when i hit the gas it boggs for a second and then continues to rise other than that the car feels like it has more power. I know i shouldnt be using it without the MAF sensor is there an adapter i can buy? any help would be much appreciated
thank you

Driving without a MAF is not a good idea. I would try to look for an adapter at your nearest junk yard. You can get it and other goodies for practically nothing.

Kragens has MAF adapters. I dont know if there is one for the 1g but they do carry one that will fit a 2g and various hondas etc. If you check on the back it will tell you what applications it fits. ours carries 3-4 different ones for various cars.

And you need to run the maf, otherwise the computer doesnt have all the information it needs to run the engine correctly and it can just pose problems for you in the future.

Hope that helps. :laser:

I got a Weapon-R intake off ebay and it didn't come with a adapter, so I just rigged it up with the stock MAF:thumb:

Just take your aluminum pipe hook it up and use the stock MAF.

Then take and put your filter on and hold the filter with those big black paperclips.

Check my gallery for a picture.

thanks, the air filter wouldnt fit over the maf so i had to cut it and then it wasnt able to go down far enough to not leave any open air spaces because the honey combs on the maf would hit the top of the filter so i had to make brackets for the filter and now thers a huge gap between the filter and the bottom of the maf round back plate so i think im just gonna buy a k&n filter from like autozone for the stock air box so it will fit over the top of the maf and go all the way down the plate but im still going to use the intake pipe how did you make yours work??
thanks p.s. ill put a picture in my gallery

On my intake, the clamp that holds the filter on has a piece of metal that sticks out and bolts down to the frame. I think you can see it in my pic:thumb:

BTW Do you mean you are going to use your stock air box with a K&N in it??? Cause its a whole lot better if you get rid of the air box completly.
