I am planning to put in a T28 big killer in my 97 gsx and i was wondering what other parts im going to need so i dont kill my engine... Also which blow off valve would u recommend APexi or HKSk, i want something loud... I know im going to need a 3inch exhaust and my choice is the gtspec by apexi.. Help would be appreciated thx a lot..

I am not so sure you "need" a 3" exhaust, 2.5" will work but 3" will work too. You need to do the stage 0, stage 1, and stage 2 mods shown here:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/tuning-guide/2gturbo/

These shouldn't be done all at once. Start at the beginning and work up to swapping out the turbo.

The most important things to keep things from blowing up are aftermarket boost gage, logger, fuel injectors, fuel controller (AFC, DSM link, MAFT, etc).

Don't tweak anything until you have installed a boost gage. Don't run over 15psi until you have a logger and you have at least rewired your fuel pump (15psi is all the stock turbo is good for anyway). Use your logger to make sure you are getting enough fuel.

There is a lot of useful stuff on this site to help you get started. Read before you modify.

I am not sure what BOV is the loudest. Just make sure you recirculate whatever you end up with (unless you run an MAFT).

Have fun,
Seth

B4 you go out and spend the but load of money on that t28, look into some thing more cost effective. you can get a lot more power for cheaper, using a diffrent turbo upgrade.

If the Killer is what you are after, then you will need some of the following items if not all
1. Fuel pump, 190lph minimum-255lph max.
2. 550cc injectors, or 650cc's.
3. S-AFC 2, or your choice of Fuel management system, Piggy back is probably best for what your doing.
4. Fuel Pressure Regulator...FPR
5. Stay away from the Fancy Exhaust, get something just as good for less.

If your looking for similar power to the T28, look into the 16g series. You can make more power, and even after an Install Kit, you save about 200-300 $.

As far as the BOV goes, get the hks, great sound and boost holding.

bov and exhaust are the least of your worries when putting on a bigger turbo

youre gonna need more fuel. 550cc injectors and a 190lph fuel pump will be sufficient. then youre gonna need something to tune. a safc and palm pilot logger combo will be good. then you can get to the exhaust, a 3" will be fine. id recommend buying a muffler off ebay for cheap in the style you want, then going to a muffler shop and having them custom make the exhaust. it will cut down the exhaust price in half and still sound and perform just as good as a prefabbed one.

and id go with the hks ssqv bov if i could do it over. i havent heard the apexi one and theres ###### a reason for that.

Just want to clear a little confusion up. I am a owner of a t28 killer.

Your thread title could not be more wrong. Its a common misconception that a t28 killer is a t28 made by garrett. This is not true. A t28 killer is a hybrid turbo, its not full anything, actually its a mix of about 3 companies.

mitsubishi Big 16g compressor wheel
garrett t28 turbine wheel
custom AiResearch housing

If you want a full garret you are referring to a big t-28 or a t28. not a t-28 killer.

A t-28 killer got its name by being designed to be a bolt on turbo that would be better than any t28, there is speculation to whether this is true or not, i believe it is, but nonetheless made to KILL t-28s not be the killer t-28.

The price is your only argument here, the t28 killer does cost more, but the t-28 killer is a 550cfm turbo, which is only outflowed by the evo 16g. It outflows the small 16g and is equal to a big16g flow rate. While as i said above, the actual garrett t28 does have inferior flow capabilities capped off at 500cfm.

The money part is pretty true, i found mine used REAL cheap. I personally think that the t-28killer is a good choice and maybe even worth the extra cash due to ease of installation (just like a stock replacement) and the fact that when you buy an intercooler kit or any aftermarket part, its still a direct bolt on, since it retains the stock location and piping. No J-pipes or anything that would make a kit made for the stock turbo eclipse not fit.

also, you stated that a fpr is needed, that wouldnt be true with a 190lph pump, which is plenty for a t-28 or t28 killer

Thanks for all the help guys its appreciated. Does anyone know any place where i can get the T28 Killer new? I checked e-bay and there is one for 750 but i am under the suspicion that its used...
