Just got back from the army and my car has been sitting for 2 months. i got in it and started to drive just to notice it is shifting incredibly stiff. you have to put a lot of effort to go from gear to gear and its almost impossible to go into reverse sometimes. i was told maybe my gear fluid was too thick, i hope its that easy but i need some answers from people who know dsms waht should i do? :talon:

my girlfriend bought a 98 gst and it was shifting pretty hard so i told her to have redline tranny fluid put in, now it works pretty well

I changed my fluid out to Royal Purple, tranny and rear diff. It works wonders. Also, I notice that after sitting for a few weeks, such as when the car is down for some reason, the shifting will take a while to get loosened up again.

is that stuff any cheaper than the redline?
If you read the link I listed you would see that GM syncromesh is $11/qt and the Pennzoil syncromesh is $6/qt. After switching to it you will notice a big difference in shifting ease almost immediately. I strongly recommend it. I used GM but Pennzoil syncromesh is supposed to be the same thing (even same part #).

i believe its 2.6 quarts and you should be fine , fixed my 3rd gear grind :thumb:

ive been driving my car for a week or so now and the shifting has improved a million times im thinking it was just stiff because it was sitting for so long im still going to get some synchromesh from what youve all said it can only make things better! :talon:
