Ok, not new to this site but this is my first post after doing a good search that didn't give me any answers and has not solved my problem.
I have a problem with my Eclipse NT/AUTO..When I'm driving and I come to a complete stop (stoplights, stop signs, traffic etc.) the rpm drops to about 500 RPM like it's about to shut off and then goes back up immediately to 900 RPM and the car idles fine..This only happens when I come to a complete stop while driving but other than that it idles fine..I read posts in regards to idle/RPM issues not the same as mine and got a little info and so I changed my coil pack, plug wires and spark plugs..Got a MSD coil w/ round terminals and MSD super Conductor 8.5mm wires and NGK plugs..My car still does the same thing after I installed all these parts ($150)..Can anybody tell what else might be causing this issue?
I would like to get this figured out ASAP.

Thanks for the quick response..I'll check the ISC hoping that this means Idle Speed Controller...I just hope this has nothing to do with my tranny/torque converter..

So I checked my ISC and did adjustments but it just controls the idle of the car..I'm still having the same problem..Can anyone give me more suggestions..This problem is getting to me!

I am having the same exact problem! The car drives amazing and then if i am sitting at a light or in my drive way it rummbles the rpms go down to like 6 then comes back up and keeps doing it. I changed out my wires to 8mm taylors and i just put in an injen intake, i dont know i was going to ignore it since the car drives fine but if you can find an answer then i will fix it

Ok, so I finally resolved this issue..Turns out the MSD wires were defective...I interchanged my MSD wires with my friends magnecore wires and test drove the car and the problem stopped almost instantaneously..So I called up MSD and had the wires replaced under the warranty..I received them yesterday and the car runs fine..Perfect at idle and no RPM drop when coming to a complete stop while driving..Just thought I would give you guys an update..

i have the same problem... thx 4 the update on how u fixed the problem... ill try the samething

thx

Im having the same problem. So you say it was the msd ignition wires? I just got a pair a while ago and iv had the problem for a while. What brand should i change to then? Or should i just call up MSD and tell them to replace em? thanks guys

if u have your air intake out in the open, all that hot air sucking could make it idle like crap too..I'm having the same problem..when i had a heat shield on my air intake it cured the problem.. it had a smooth idle.but i threw it out cause it kept hitting my shift linkage, the shield didn't fit right.. .what i do now instead is when the car starts to idle ### at stop i just turn on my fans and the bad idle goes away..this will do till i can fabricate a better heat shield some how  ..hope this helps :thumb:

Hmm i never though of that. I could give it a try. I live in ohio and the air is starting to get real cold so ya may be right. ill give it a shot and let ya know

Hey so i put that shield back on my ram air and its not helping at all. Any other suggestions? I'm also having a problem with fourth gear it seems the car doesn't wanna go into it all the time. It likes to pop out at times. Ya think that has anything to do with this idle problem? I'm also getting shitty MPG. It goes like 150 miles and i have to refuel cause the light flashes at me. It puts in about 11 gallons each time.

damn that sucks..Did this idle problem happened after u install your msd wires, or been before? Do u have a check engine light on? MPG problem could be your either your oxygen sensor going out, spark plugs not gapped right or just worn out, clogged fuel injectors, fuel filter , and might even be a bad fuel pump. You should order a dsmlink, it logs all the data from your ecu so u can see whats going on with all your sensors. especially your oxygen sensor. Transmisson wise , check and see if your shift linkage is adjusted right, make sure your air intake is not in the way..happened to me..if everything checks out OK, search on here..you could find some answers to your problem :thumb:

From what i remember it happened after i put em on. But it wasn't really that bad it would only happen if i would drive fast or rev up right after the car was turned on. but now it happens all the time. All the lights that turn on when ya first put the key in come on right before the car dies. I have had problems with my oxygen sensor in the past so maybe ill get it looked at again. If i was to buy a air/fuel ratio gauge will that tell me if its bad? Whats this dsmlink? and how much it cost? And as for the trans I'm just going to take it back to the people that installed it and tell them to fix it cause they already messed it up two times before this. so i think they may have messed it up again. Thanks for your help guys!

not having some luck there..its wierd how your intake isnt sucking any air, never heard of that.Maybe your throttle body is clogged up with gunk, or isnt properly adjusted right with the cables??.Well neways u should return those spark plugs wires , tell them that there defective and get some newer ones. Hopefully that should solve your idle issues or maybe your idle issues are related to your throttle body.. as for your mpg problem, check out your o2 sensor make sure its working properly..im having problems with mines and i get 200mpg per tank  , do a major fuel tune up ...fuel injectors cleaned out, and fuel filter replaced..the air/fuel gauge wont help any it would just give you a reading. Now would be a perfect time to invest about 120-150 bucks on a dsmlink. So you can check out that check engine light. Ebay has some great deals...just type dsmlink on ebay. i dont know whats going on with your oil pressure gauge..Search around here and maybe you find some answers..good luck :thumb:

I'm also getting idle issues, but could this be because my alternator is going south?

i doubt that, when your alternator goes south ..usally the battery light would fade in when your at a stop , and when you start to drive the battery light would fade out. Of course slow starts, car shutting off while driving.
Another one is when the voltage regulater goes out in the alternator and overcharges your battery, which sucks cause it really stinks like straight up ass :barf: ..overcooks the acid inside your battery, and sprays all under your hood.

Lucky me I experienced both..this is my 3rd alternator :toobad:

Let me rephrase that, my alternator IS going south :)
could that be why I am idling bad

No that shouldnt cause your car to idle bad..But hey who knows DSMS have weird problems neways...replace your alt. a.s.a.p. i know you wouldnt like to be stuck on the side of the road :notgood:
did this problem started to happen when your alt started going out?

I have the same idle problem as well. I just rebuilt my motor and this is really frustrating. It idles like it is sucking air but I can't find any leaks. When I hooked up the pda with MMCD it shows a O2 voltage of .03v. This doesn't seem right. Could the sensor be bad without setting a code? I rebuilt with parts from a donor car and may have used the donor's O2 which would be of unknown condition. I know mine worked before I threw a rod and spun three bearings. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

So i finally figured out why my car keeps dien! My hks ssqv bov has to be recirculated back into the air induction. So if anyones car keeps dien on them then they push in the clutch and if there air intake doesnt seen to be workin and you getting very low mpg think about getting the recirculation kit for your bov. Just letting ya guys know thats what my problem was with my car. It messed up all sorts of things on my car.

I also have an idle problem with my 95 tsi AWD. The problem is when the car is parked i step on the clutch pedal the rpm goes all the away down between 200-500 rpm and when i release the clutch pedal the rpm goes back to normal (800 -1k) this is when i did not put on the middle O2 sensor and I have a high performance clutch installed. Will this cause the problem. Also if i rev th rpm between 4-5k and press the clutch pedal the call will stop running and i have to restart the engine again. Can any of you guys tell me what causing it.
