Hey guys, I have 2g 96 gst. my mods are:
-evo 16g ported and flappered
-2.5 inlet and than 3" downpipe
-3" catback 3.5 tip
-greddy 24r fmic
-clinic 550cc injectors and safc 2
-greddy upper intercooler piping w/ type s blowoff
-2.5" o2 housing
-Injen intake routed back to blowoff valve
-dual stage boost controller turboxs
-aftermarket stianless steel valves and new seals and head gaskets.
-and of course some guages

my goal is to beat a cobra mustang and 5.0 mustangs. I hate mustang. but anyways lets get to business. i just put in my injectors and turbo. i was running 17 psi with t25. but i need new settings for the bigger monster.

im planning to run 18-20 psi. im normal street driver. Planning to go all out.

So please give me the best settings for the safc. Give me everything you know i should do to the safc.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's some basic information to get you started:

If you were planning to go all out, your injectors will not let you exploit the full potential of the EVO III. 650's, 660's or even stock EVO VIII injectors would have been a better choice. The AFC will bump the timing curve, so go easy until you log it and see if timing is being pulled at WOT in 3rd.

Hope that helps,

Andy

i forgot to metion that i have 255 walbro fuel pump and 2100 act and act flywheel.

And any other tips and settings you guys recommend.

Yes, you need an afpr.

The Evo injectors are 510cc if im correct.

AFPR = Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator

The 225 flows more than the stock pump, obviously. The problem is that the stock fuel pressure regulator isn't able to handle the increased flow and you end up running rich all of the time.

Anyway, all of the major parts vendors carry them, just look under fuel. :thumb:

sorry but what is an afpr and where can i find it?
AFPR = Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator

You need an afpr because the fuel return capacity of the stock fuel pressure regulator is inadequate to bleed off the excess fuel generated by a larger pump like the 255 resulting in the inability in maintaining the base pressure and the 1:1 ratio between the intake and fuel pressure causing rich conditions during idle, part throttle and poor gas mileage. Most dsm vendors carries them but be careful and stay away from the B&M Command Flo.

Per Jeff at DSM Chips, EVO VIII injectors flow 600cc even though the rating is less. ALL Denso injectors flow more than their rating.

Very interesting; what is he basing this conclusion on, flow tests or tuning settings?

Evo8 injectors are rated 560cc, anyway--not 510. I've been delighted with mine--best $120 I've ever spent.

EDIT>> To answer the OP's questions, the two links given above (especially the RKO link given by spyder007) will get you going. If you don't have a logger, the RKO link will be fairly useless.

My personal mods are quite similar to yours, except I have a JR fmic and 560cc injectors. My Low Thr. settings are approximately -16 across the board, and my High Thr. settings are right around -16, adding a few more % into the positive (i.e. -15 and -14) in the midrange when boost usually comes on. These settings are still fairly rich, as far as I can tell, at 20 psi. My o2 voltage is above .95 across the board.

Quite possibly both, but most likely tuning settings for deadtime and global. Although I purchased FIC 550's he told me the EVO VIII 560's were a much better bet and would have more headroom up to 600cc. If you check on some posts regarding Denso injectors, a number of people on this board, and others, mention that they flow more than their rating. I'm not sure if the rating is conservative, but I trust Jeff's information on this.

Cheers,

Andy

thanks guys for all the help and links, ive messed around with it and have a 30 and 80 th point. and have a couple of the settings high in the -10 and low in the -15 and 18 pounds of boost and runs awsome. i beat a wrx sti with intake and exhaust. i can feel the diffrence. thanks
