:dsm: I have a 91 Talon TSI AWD and i just bought a Dejon Tool UICP. When i went to remove the original throttle body elbow i found 2 studs and 2 bolts. Well i got the bolts off and i even got 1 stud off but i am not sure if the other stud should come out. Dejon Tool sent me the piping and 4 bolts with washers, i am assuming by what they sent that i should be able to remove the studs AND the bolts and use what dejon tool sent in the first place.

any advice would be appreciated, i dont want to turn a stud that is not going to come out and i cant make sense of them sending extra parts.

If they sent you 4 bolts then use those. Removing studs isn't a big deal dude, just thread on a nut and then thread on another one. At this point lock them together and grab them both at the same time with a deep socket. This will back the stud out without damaging it.
 
:rocks: thanks, i wasnt sure if it was permanent or if i was just doing it wrong, i was using vice grips
 
The SBR FMIC kit I ordered came w/ a new t-body and new bolts. Actually it came w/ 3 bolts and 1 stud, for the bottom right where its impossible to get a socket down there for me. As someone posted above, using 2 nuts is the correct way to back out a stud.
 
De Jon Tool sent you the extra bolts & studs as the TB flange on the new UICP is not as thick as the OE elbow's flange... You can just use a few washers to take up the extra length of the OE bolts/studs, or just tap the threads down a little further on the OEs.

I've also found that the fuel rail's mounting bolts will work with thinner flanges as well.

As Fast97 said, the trick of "Double-Nutting" a stubborn stud works very well.
