My friend (who is on dsmtalk) has a 96GSX and I got in a debate today about these turbos. He is looking at the EVO III 16 turbo for a upgrade and I was telling him that he could get the 18G Compressor mated to Clipped TD05H Turbine wheel/Compressor Housing on 7cm EVO style turbine housing.

The reason for this is that the EVO style housing is that it will be less prone to cracking, and will bolt on to the EVO o2 housing. I also said that a 190 with 660cc injectors will be enough for the 18G/TDO5H/7cm Evo turbine housing - turbo.

Any comments on these 2 turbos?

This is just a statement i really dont get what your trying to say. Are you trying to say that a CLIPPED 18G is better than a standard E16G...if so you are right. I have an e16g i love it it also is much cheaper than a 18G :dsm:

I'm talking a turbo by using combination parts to make the turbo:

Using the 18G TD05H chra fitted into a recontoured TD05H cover

with the 'clipping' option

And using it on a Ported 7cm EVO Style Housing

And using the 14b/16G OEM Actuator
http://linux.forcedperformance.net/...e=FP&Product_Code=WA&Category_Code=UNIV-Tcomp

By using the combination parts, you are using the 18G instead of the 16G for more power and since it has the 7cm ported EVO Turbine housing instead of the standard DSM 7cm turbine housing, it is less prone to cracks and bolts on to the EVO 3 O2 housing. :sneaky:
Basically it is like the EVO III 16G turbo, BUT has a 18G TD05H instead of the 16G TD05H.

your friend should just do a straight up 50 trim....

He wants to stay away from DSM style Turbine Housing since he knows a few people who have cracked housings (and I agree on that). Thats why the turbo with the EVO 3 Turbine Housing. I know PTE has 50 trims with DSM turbine housings, anyone sell them with the EVO 3 Turbine housing?

Anyone know if 660s and 190 pump will be enough fuel for the 18G? I know this setup supplies enough fuel for the Evo3 16G turbo.

660's should be fine im running my evoIII at 19psi and 72% IDC on 650's; not too sure about the 190lph pump, people run them with 16G's and I dont think an 18G is too much bigger.

I like the idea of a TD05H 18G CHRA mated to a TD06 compressor housing. In fact, I like it so much I bought one. I do also like that idea of a ported Evo turbine housing, though, because you're absolutely right-- cracking in regular DSM turbine housings is a problem.

Well, this is what I found out. If a 190 fuel pump supplies enough fuel for a 50trim with 660ccs thats running 22-23psi, I'm sure it will be enough for a 18G turbo. :D
