just curious if there are any common mistakes made that would cause the car not to idle at all. i have to constantly flutter the gas in order to keep it running. my WB is fluctuating between 13.5 and 15.2. But the car runs extremely rough and will not hold idle at all. just curious if there are any common mistakes made after a engine rebuild that would cause this. I know timing is a obvious issue, but i was wondering if any other possibilities would be present, that i may have over looked due to extreme simplicity.

alright when i got my engine down i had quite the problems here are some of the things that fixed idling troubles:

1 Throttle Linkage to the TB was too loose causing a very high idle
2 to companstate for high idle turned the TB adjuster (made it idle like sh!t)
3 (not sure if it applies) Potentiometer (sp?) (common 7 bolt to 6 bolt problem)

thanks for the help, but i have the 420A, none of those things apply to my motor. Thanks though.

cold start you o2 should hold steady not be fluctuating

Figured it out, blew the EGR valve cause i had the vac lines backwards. So it wouldnt hold idle, as well as my VE table on MSnS was a lil off, got that fixed. Made some block off plates and completely removed the EGR system. Holds idle real good now, still a lil rough but just gotta play with my VE table some more.
