okay before i even put efi systems pms on the car i had an idle that misses badly( i figured i could fix it with the idle tuning option on the pms. but once installed i got a whole bunch of weird crap going on. So on to the problems.... with stock settings on the pms beor i touched anything the cars idle was really shitty and i was geting a significant amount of blue smoke out the exhuast. Wierd thing is it only happens when the mas is disconnected or i set the idle way to low under normal circumstances, but with the pms installed on idle its constant. i get every thing from idle surge to missfires. i run the tmo logger on and on idle it says im running like 47 steps idle control and my timing advance is around 19-21 degrees ( which is od im used to seeing 8-11) ....

well the weird idle thing happened the minute i install the front mount IC and piping but i have no boost leaks checkedit like 3 time over found nothing. im only running a 14b because I am afraid of using the 20g since the car is acting all unpredictable. Figured that would be a major No No :nono: but Im sorta frustated because i know the potential of the PMS which is very good with the software i have but with this weird idle thing its bringi out all sorts of weird problems. but here is what ive checked so far.

isc changed 3 times for idle surge. took apart entire intake system 2 times to check for leaks. switche throttle bodies . messed with cas to see if it had anthing to do with it. adjusted the tps, switched spark plugs out properly gaped .28, thats all so far

any ideas

I have a 94 eagle talon tsi with efi pms, it has the same exact problems , mine is burning super rich and idling like crap,i have also had to replace my ecu twice and am still haveing problems, i think im also getting a bad fuel cut, its like a revlimiter kicking it way before the redline, if you figure yorus out , could you please let me know whats going on, or if you have any ideas. thanks

This happened to me a few years back. Some of the same things were going on. What you really need to do is check all of your connections with the PMS and make sure that they are secure. If not, you will get those types of effects. I think that one of the best things that needs to happen before installation of this type item is to insure that things are aready operating normal. If you have the MAS upgrade, look very closely at that. One other thing that PMS is crazy about is spark plug cables and spark plugs. Good luck!
