I will be picking up my car on Friday with the newly built engine and ECMlink basic adjustments that worked well (not professionally done only basics) for my previous set up.
Q1. Will the global dead time need to change due to the changes? :
1. CR is now close to 9.5:1- previously stock engine
2. K272 cams, dual valve springs, 1mm oversized intake valves, and minor porting on exhaust- previously stock
3. 2.3 crank- previously stock
Q2. Should these differences mean the new engine will run poorly with the previous tune? Supposedly, according to the mechanic who swears that the Evo 3 intake manifold would lose HP and refused to install it (hilarious) vs the stocker the car is running rich.
Q3. How much difference should these changes make as far as basic tuning?
Q4. Should the car car be safe to drive until I get the wideband installed and have it tuned by the local expert DSM dude?
Fear of ruining the new very expensive engine has me concerned and I need some advice on this, thanks in advance.
I have not installed an adjustable fuel pressure regulator due to obsessive spending on this already and the effect that has had on my ability to spend more.
This did not cause any obvious problems before although I did have a fuel trim malfunction code sometimes which could be due to my novice tuning or having to swap turbos. Currently I am using a 14b in the 68HTA housing which was a necessary evil at the time when the awesome rubber sleeve cleverly hid inside the stock air intake (which sadly I am still using) minus the rubber sleeve which ate my new 68HTA at the time. I have a new 68HTA center cartridge which I'm not installing till I make sure nothing else is waiting to come loose and ruin another 4 day old turbocharger.
