I'm trying to decide which to go with and was wondering if anyone has had experience with either yet? I know its a HUGE gap between the two (61.4mm vs 67mm) but I'm worried that if I go with the s300, it might not be much of an upgrade from where I am. I currently have an h1c/6blade super hx40 hybrid in a custom machined FP bolt on housing. On the flipside, I'm also worried that the 67mm will be too laggy and unresponsive. Here's the thing though...along with the switch, I'll also be going from an FP manifold, to a true twinscroll tubular manifold and divided exhaust housing. In addition, I'm also going from a stock 6 bolt block to a 2.3ltr stroker with Oliver rods and AMS spec Ross pistons that are 9:1. So the twinscroll, higher compression, and added displacement almost completely offsets the added lag from the 67mm. Looking for input and experience....?

The 67mm s400 will probably be laggy. The s300 FMW will spool like a 83/75 (s360) and have almost the power of a 91/79 (s366). Have you thought about a 91/79 (s366)? On a 2.0 people are seeing 30psi just at or before 5.5K and it's an 82lb/min turbo.

I have considered it. I just was thinking that the fmw might spool similar with more flow due to the billet wheel. I wonder if its possible to get the s366 with the 67mm fmw compressor so it would still have the s300sx 80mm turbine? I just think that with the 83/74, I will have to really wring out the turbo to meet my goal with it having a rating of about 75lbs per min. Plus its only 6lbs per min over my current compressor. Also, I don't understand why people keep saying the s300sx fmw will make the power of the cast s366, considering it flows 75lbs per min and the s366 flows 82lbs?? 7lbs per min is a pretty big gap... I may try giving full-race a call tomorrow to see if the fmw 67mm wheel can be mated with the 80mm turbine. If not, then I'll have to see if I can find out just how much later the 83mm turbine will spool over the 80mm.

Iv wondered about the 67mm wheel in a 91/79 myself. If not you can still get a billet wheel from BEP and still be $400-500 cheaper then buying the turbo from them.

You can try it for yourself. I get full boost by 5200- 5700 depending on what gear im in accept 1st gear. You can buy the billet wheel and have it rebuilt by bullseye turbo and have any s366 upgraded. Its a great turbo and it has been flawless and fast for me. I have the standard cast wheel currently. 33 psi gets you over 650 awhp It made more power at 42 psi. Im personally scard to give it maximum power, as im unsure its worth breaking the turbo to do consitanly. In my opinion honda's with high VE engines and supra's with large displacing 3.0 liters engines is what these turbos are truely made for. They're able to get max power ay far less boost then we need in our cars. Most standard bushing turbocharger have problems at hight boost 33 psi+. Ball bearing is a better way to go for long term usage. Flip side is atleast they are rebuildable. You can search but nobody with a 4g63 really uses them, and now one reason why. BW and Bullseye are still great companys amd id still suggest there ptoducts. Mine is still working great and shows no signs of wear.

I have a friemd with a Prelude with that turbo. I wouldnt suggest the s400 67mm for a 2.3 unless your going to spray it aswell. As soon as you spool ot your going to have to shift. You can look at dyno sheet from people that are using that product all over the internet.

That's why I was wanting to put the 67mm fmw wheel in a s300sx 91/79 because the exducer is the same and the cw inducer is barely a mm larger so spool should be almost the same as a standard 91/79 but with about 10 more lbs per min compressor flow. I pm'd SIM to see if they can do it. Full-race already emailed back and said they can't.

well keep us updated to see if you can do this ^^^ or not because i been looking into the 300sx fmw for awhile now

Gotcha. I was just asking because I am actually referring to putting the s400sx 67mm or 91/83 fmw compressor in a standard 91/80 (current cast s366), so I can have the flow of the 67mm fmw 94lb per min compressor, with the slightly quicker spool of the 80mm turbine rather than the 83mm turbine in the s400sx fmw.
