Been doing lots of research trying to find new rear brake backing plates. Haven't come across them anywhere. Worse comes to worse Ill buy used form the local yard or online. If anyone has any leads or knows of somewhere that sells them, please let me know.

Sorry for the confusion. Yes the metal shields behind the rotors. Cancer got the best of mine..

Well I'm generally wary of the "I took 'em off and had no problems!" kind of responses but... since these shields I bet are hard to come by it's what I'll offer. I have had them off my track car for a the last couple years and three track events and have had no issues, knock on wood. I chose to remove mine to fit the rear evo 8 brakes I installed (the dust shields don't fit the larger evo rotors). So you could just run without them.

I appreciate the responses guys. I ripped into my parts car last night to find that they were in worse shape than the car Im working on. Taking them off completely has been a consideration. This car is not gonna be a DD. Its a project car. Its going to get PA Classic plates and Ill be lucky to have it out a few days a month. Its gonna be garage kept and wont be taken out in any harsh weather or crappy conditions where I think they would be an issue. The only part that worries me is if it will pass state inspection or not. Im still searching for new ones but so far it has been nearly impossible to find.

Did manage to find a site that sells them. But im going to have over $130 for both sides. Im just gonna take mine completely off and see what happens with state inspection. Worse they can do is fail me til i fix it.

Have you checked any junkyards? That would be your best bet dude. I don't see why it would be an issue taking them off for good though.
