Ok so i have a 95 tsi bought it NOT RUNING, rebuilt the lower end ex Crank, bearings, rings, seals, oil, pump. I notice that when driving during the day it idles high, for instance, when i first start the day it idles at 1k-1100 normal. But as i drive it thorugh out the day it jumps to 2k and even times to 3500 (only during the day). On the flipside during night driving it has a hard time keeping idle (it dies when i come to a stop or when in nuetral). I have checked the mas plug, and have done a boost leak test (none). I am currently running water for coolant. any help would greatly appreciated. Any information i failed to announce let me know .

Have you searched/researched bliss screw adjustments? Also make sure that your throttle cable has enough slack. I recently put my 1999 GSX back together and I've been working on the idle for 3 days. I finally have it pretty solid after;
1. Fixing the throttle cable so it gives enough slack for the gate to close fully.
2. Letting the car warm up until its fans are going on and off, and letting it try and "find" its idle.
3. Adjusting the BLISS screw in all the way until it is trying to die, and then adjusting it out again a couple turns.
4. If you've done all this and you're still having problems you may have a bad FIAV which may be solved by following these instructions from RRE folks. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-intake-exhaust/320951-fiav-adjustment-disable.html

PS what engine management system are you using? If you have no boost leaks, and the throttle cable is giving enough slack, and the TPS is showing 0% when the throttle is off, and your BLISS screw is set appropriately you should be able to get even a very lumpy cam to idle.

If you don't have some way to data log, I highly recommend investing in it - mine has already saved me chasing problems numerous times. Anyways, it could be a number of things, like mentioned already the fast idle valve could be acting up.. Could be a dead/dying coolant temp sensor, o2 sensor (mine went bad and ECU locked in open loop - it thought the temp sensor was bad when it wasn't) idle speed control, or out of adjustment biss screw. There's a write up on how to properly set your biss that involves grounding out the ISC so it doesn't mess with the idle. Check these out and let us know :thumb:

I have the Solas ultra Scanner wen through data to adjust the tps to 0%. I have 1 code rear o2 heater. my biss screw is all the way down, )explanation): I turned car off unplugged the isc, started car and idle was at 2k i adjusted the biss screw to 1k. Shut the car off plugged the isc back in and it held between 800-900, until I drove the car then it went back to 2.5k so i thought maybe my tb wasnt closing oar the throttle cable was getting held up by at the tb spring, so i lubed the cable spring, and tore the tb off cleaned the living carp outa it. I have a blown t-25 so it spits oil through the ICP needless to say its dirty again. Would the fiav cause it only to idle high during the day and kill at night?? this is the only consistent thing that happens. Currently i do not have a Tunning program on her, the logger i have is my Solas Ultra scanner

I had the same issue when I got mine running. It ended up being a combination of a few things.

-First thing was the throttle cables were sticking. That made it stop idling crazy high as in the 3000 RPM range. After this it idled at right around 2K RPM
-BISS was turned all the way in so no adjustment there.
-The throttle stop screw was set incorrectly. I adjusted this back some and she purrs right around 900 RPM now.

I also checked the TPS and verified that was set correctly. It was already set correctly in my case, but it may be something you would like to look into. Lastly it could be due to a dirty throttle body. Cleaning it with carb cleaner or even rebuilding it may help as well.
