How many miles to break in clutch?

Just got done putting a new clutch in my car. It's a Southbend Kevlar Clutch, guy from TMZ Perfromance said 1500-2000 Miles for break in I think that's a little to much. I've asked around and some of my buddies said at the most 700 Miles??? Any input would be gerat guys thank you!

I would say 6-700 miles and you should be good bro. But honestly the longer you break it in the longer it should last and be less likely to slip, or glaze the flywheel/pressure plate surfaces. I went about 650-700 on my spec clutch break in and first real hard pulls where at the track .

While you guys are on this topic, how far down is your 'release point' on your clutches? mine is pretty far down there, it bites pretty quick..is this a good thing or bad? j.w, thx.

Your clutch should engage about halfway. You probably need to just adjust your master cylinder.

I was told when i put my 2600 in that clutch break-in is about 500 miles.

You will feel the engagement change on the kevlar clutch when it is broke in. I did anyway. It was about 400 miles IIRC, but that was a couple years ago. Just don't launch or track it for the first few hundred.

Do a lot of stop/go city driving, highway miles don't really count since it isn't engaging/disengaging while your cruising.
