so i dropped a CX racing rad and slim fans into the eclipse during a fill engine and drive line build, and now that i have it all reassembled, the fans wont turn on. I can go on DSMlink and click the 'turn fans on' button, and i can hear the relay click, but no fans?!? i took the 4 wires, connected the 2 black together (solid black and black stripe) and the other 2 together for both sides, and nothing. Did I wire something wrong, or what else could cause this problem? if the relay runs, then it has to be wiring, right?
Thanks!

If I read your post and looking at my FSM right, you may have shorted the W/B (lo +12V) wire directly to ground (solid black)

Same with the other fan speed, looks like you shorted both speed settings to ground

I don't have personal experince wiring in those fans so I'll give ya this link

hey bro lets try this. just humor me ok.
get some alligator clips and connect them to the correct corresponding terminals, expose some of the wiring on the fans and just touch together BRIEFLY!!! If the fans kick on then its time to break out the multimeter and start looking for a broken wire.
HOWEVER if the fans dont kick on either 1 of 2 things have happened. both kinda suck.
1st. read any information that came with your fans and find out what voltage it requires. you might have been sent the wrongs fans that just happen to be the right size. not talking crap just saying sometimes mistakes happen, thats life.
the 2nd your really not gonna like. the fans might be fried already. you may have just got a rotten streak of luck, it doesnt happen very often but it still happens.
i hope i helped point you in a better direction to help solve or at least diagnose the problem. let me know how it goes. good luck bro.

NHerron..... sick 2G like what youve done. that murdered look is SWEET.

murdered out: all black. Looks sick on any car ever made in the history of cars..... period LOL

yea, i wired them directly to the battery. nothing, either of them. tried switching terminals and everything. I think im going to just go buy a more quality set of fans. my local performance shop has mishimoto fans with a shroud for $155, think that should do the trick.

Yeah if the shroud that comes with it looks like it would do a good job, I would. It's sad seeing fans held up to the radiator but no shrouding and seeing 30% of the raditor core :ohdamn:

I love how on my suburban that airflow is directed with a heavy duty funneling shroud. The distance between fan and bumper grille is at least a foot with the grille being 2 feet across and it still sucks a piece of paper to the grille :thumb:

If no one responds, you know you can open a case right? Trust me, the customer is always right on eBay. I have been screwed over 4 times (since like 2005) and each time eBay helped me out and got my money back
