Some of you have been following my build blog on my 97 GSX shell. I bought the shell from a friend who bought it from the last registered owner with title in Aurora Illinois. My friend did not register the shell as it is just that a shell. Not driveable. No motor no tranny. It's a project car and went into his storage. He bought a 97 supercharged corvette and sold me the 97 GSX shell. He dropped it off here and I promptly put it into my storage. I have spent the better part of the year working on it. I didn't register it as it wasn't driveable. The DMV doesn't have a problem with me not registering it since it wasn't on the road.
Ok long story short I had been expecting to get the GSX running last month and put the title into the cargo pocket of my pants. It actually started 6 days later and then to my horror I found out I sent the title thru the wash. It's nothing but paper pulp. The WI DMV was no help.
I did not know the original registered owner in Illinois. My buddy did not save his name or telephone number. His screen name here on tuners is turbodsmawd420. He lives in Aurora Illinois. DMV is saying basically the only way to get this thing registered in WI is to have him re title it in Illinois and then send me the new title. I don't know his name. If anyone on here knows him personally I really need to get a hold of him.

I hope you were not wearing cargo pants as well...:tease:

If so..Try on a pair of regular jeans will you..

I only wear them. I feel cramped with jeans.

I used to wear them back in the day too..But now I don't carry enough stuff to warrant wearing cargo pants..

If you got a girl and you wear cargo pants..You become their purse..I seen that on scrubs and thought it was funny..

Then get one that isn't "prissy" as I call it. The only thing I've ever carried is her phone. At all times I have 3 pockets used, and never anything in the back pockets. Having zippers on the side pockets is a godsend in amusement parks.

Amusement parks..Interesting..That would definatly come in handy in that sutuation..

Almost makes me want to buy a pair of these cargo pants..ALMOST..But if I ever go to an amusement park..I'm buying some of these pants..But I'm not carrying her phone..

Once in a while, yes. I don't see what the big deal is. If she doesn't take her purse, the only place for it is in her back pocket and I don't want to feel phone.

The pit is a couple years old. Good obedient dog. I like it. The lab is a few months old, rescued from a bad home. Just being a PITA puppy. Always messes with the pit, but hopefully will grow up to be a good dog too.

found some pics. BTW that's a hawk we found on the side of the road

I want a freaking hawk..I would wrap it up in my arms, and hold it like a baby..Feed it mice..And then have it sit on my friends shoulders, and poop on them..ROFL

That's how mine shows for every previous owner, maybe cause your using a stealership to do it might be different.

Rumor has it that there's some skinny Swedish chick covered in tattoos that's really good at this kind of stuff. Maybe you can hire her. Or am I mixing real life and fiction again?

So yesterday I got a messege back from my guy that lives in aurora...He doesn't know the guy..

But I asked him if he felt like becoming mr detective.Maybe he could find the guy...

Any luck on emailing this guy, since he hasn't been on tuners since September?

Its a long shot, but you might try posting an ad on Craigslist in that area. Maybe he frequents it, or someone who knows him will stumble across it.

Carfax does list three title transactions and a title number for each of the transactions. So I guess the next thing to do is call Illinois DMV and ask if they can give me a name based on that title #.

While your trying to track it down through paperwork maybe you could try and post a photo of the car, as long as it hasn't been painted, in the Great Lakes Region (Illinois section) of the site. Possiably get lucky and have someone over there recognize it and know who or the whereabouts of the previous owner.

I would almsot ask just to sell it to me..But since your having a PITA time trying to figure it out..I'm not gonna be able to figure it out..

Have you tried on your day off, going to madtown dmv and asking if they can help..
