Looking for a list of the local auto "tuner" or "race" shops, Can be for imports or domestics.
From Longview/Kelso to Eugene please.

Thanks for your help.

Looking to offer auto transportation to the larger more distant race tracks like Vegas etc.

im not sure what the rates are. i did just run into a poor kidwho paid chris at west coast dsm to JACK HIS RIDE UP. he was sappose to do a 6 bolt swap with a new motor......... the car left on a tow truck and came back the same way.

ive heard that chris guy rips ppl off..i know a kid who paid him 120 bucks for a used 1g tb and 1g cas.

Actually the vehicle came to us in extremely poor shape. It had been to two other shops and had its 7 bolt rebuilt at each unsuccessfully. When the GST arrived at our location it was in complete disarray. It was missing ALL the hardware, most all of the brackets and the wiring harness had been damaged at some point and we were asked not paid to "clean it up". We were only contracted to install the used 6 bolt and nothing more. We were not responsible for cleaning up anyone else's mistakes. So I think it is extremely unfair to blame us for problems that arrived with the car. We did EXACTLY as we were paid to do. We didn't charge a core for the engine, we didn't charge for the wiring harness repair we did, We didn't charge for every single piece of hardware (Bolts, Nuts, Fastners) that didn't come with the car and we didn't charge for the usd ACT clutch we gave them.

And as far as bad mouthing us at every chance you get Casperfast I would encourage you to do some more research into the situation. Or hell come on down to the shop and see what we are about first hand. I think your getting warned (on our site) about your lack of grammar and spelling is your reason for negative comments.

xx503boyxx, the person you are referring to bought a ton more stuff than just the TB and CAS. And if he didn't think it was a fair asking price for all the components than he shouldn't have purchased them.

Again, I happily invite anyone to come down to our shop and actually meet us and see what we are about. All the hearsay is a bit juvenile.

I know two of the guy's who don't "technically" work at Drag on but they DO help with builds.

Both are total idiots, one of them told me that when people build Evos they take out the motor because it sucks. Then he tried to tell me the Eclipse and Talon just share the same body style and even though they were made at the same factory they weren't made with the same parts. Him and the owner hooked up a T3 to his basically stock car and threw in a ECU/fuel pump/injectors and ran the car with barely tuning it which probably ruined the internals because it has been running rough since.

The owner also sold a turbo he blew to some guy at Battle of the imports telling him nothing was wrong with it. It didn't seem damaged and it wasn't leaking oil anywhere but they did find something majorly wrong with it but I can't think of it off hand.

I really don't trust the shop but apparently a lot of people around here that drive Hondas do. Everything I have heard from both of them just makes me want to stay way from there but I'm not sure with out hearing more from people with positive reviews. Plus I have only seen them blow up cars on race day.

I don't know, It's easier to remember the bad than the good I guess.

Wait...:hmm:
Who is We? and what's your name? Oh and Where is your shop actually at? It would help to know if anyone is to "come Down".

If anyone would like a tour of our shop please give us a call (503)683-1376. And we'll set aside sometime for them to come down and have their questions answered. We normally don't advertise our location primarily for the protection of our customers cars, our shop, but also out of respect for our neighboring businesses. While we are more focused on our online store than being a service center we do have to be concerned about these unfortunate realities. And with our limited space we have to limit the amount of "just stopped by to look around" types. If we didn't the very small parking lot (that we share) would not be adequate to serve all of the businesses located on this premises. OH and because you asked so nicely our names are Chris, Chris, Johnny and Mike.

The most reputable shop I know of and use personally is "English Racing". Their shop is in Camas. No one else touches my car.

While I don't mind answering your questions, I wonder why are you so interested.

Yes it has I believe I said that but While where on the topic

My Question is why are you are avoiding answering it so badly ;)

I am not avoiding anything. I am simply curious as to why you are so intent on knowing who we are personally? It makes one cautious and seriously concerned. Like as stated before if you are truly serious about having your questions answered, call our shop. :)

See what I don't get is that in a very customer based environment. Your pushing the get them in the door or call tactics. Which knowing what I do about sales makes sense. But not everyone has the time or inclination to take time to arrange a tour etc. I know I sure don't, there are way to many fly by night shops that unless you have something tangible to contribute then its just kinda like oh, great another tuner. Also if someone asks you a direct question and you dance around it and don't answer the question people won't have any interest because it makes people think you either don't know what the hell your doing or you are trying to upsell. When a question gets asked and there is a call the shop reply or the question just doesn't get answered. That isn't a way to draw in new good business. Just my feelings from a long stay in the motorsports / car arena. If someone asks you how to build an engine sure, tell them to stuff it. But if someone asks something simple, like how much do you charge for this one item in this condition and your referred to call the shop so we can talk about it. It seems like a waste of time that people in my industry don't have time for.

Regarding who you are etc, When I ran a shop people were always curious about who I was and what my background was. People want to know this because if they are going to pay me for a service they want to know that I am not some guy that founded dormroomracing.com. And your departure from disclosing anything about your shop / people while may be for security reasons. It not going to have the desired effect if your trying to get people pay for your services. Just like you wouldn't pay me to develop your Daytona Prototype engine if you only knew my Forum name or as Patrick.

From a marketing standpoint, having a web site, abet even a shitty one with some pictures of work you have done and maybe the INSIDE of your shop and what not may encourage people to be less skeptical. But a recent forum join date, no web site listed etc. Alot of people equate good presentation with professionalism. If you don't have a web guy, learn how to do it and keep learning it. If you need to Check out other retailers and shops, get your vendors to update their lists so it shows you as a authorized vendor for a given product. If your not take the steps to get it done. "That is why we are always willing to answer all of your questions and give you our opinions on your project."- if you call our shop and jump through some hoops. Put it this way, some of the best in the dsm/evo industry will answer simple questions by email. If your workload prevents you from getting to the phone an email should be a better way to communicate with your clients. Get the web site worked out(make sure it works with current mozzilla and explorer which is doesn't work properly with moz., list some projects, show some current and previous builds and that will probably lessen some of the skeptics positions. Some Logger cables and ebay stuff doesn't give people the impression of a brick and mortar shop. I do understand not disclosing the location willy nilly, but even when I worked on lambos, Ford GT's and half of the supercars out there, and also worked on things that cost over 29 million. Its not a secret or top secret project, its a dsm/ evo. I still had a work portfolio that I could provide people with demonstrating my abilities. Also assuming people know nothing can come across as pretty damn disrespectful. Read the emails and messages you get before your people respond half cocked.

Hope this helps.

So much to say but I'll stay quiet for now.

But Paul knows our shop very well, and he knows that we haul our race cars ourselves.

Whats odd is so many cars come from this west coast shop for me to fix, from people paying for a 2.3 motor and only getting a junk yard 2.0 core installed, to people being suckered believing they can do a simple 6 bolt swap right the first time

Honestly those names you pm'd me sounded made up...Maybe they aren't Idk. Chris Herbert?
But, Quit acting like I'm the new guy here. I've been working on these cars long before my join date on here. Yet your the one with a join date a month ago. I could understand if you had been around for a bit an acted like this(Or at least provide some info that you've been around awhile (IE who you really are) so if anything the users(or the DSM owners in the area)around here are the ones that should be worried!
Sorry, not gonna call your "shop" I'm sure you've got time to answer the phone with the way you do business. an highly doubt your parking lot is going to fill up at this rate....If you had any businesses sense you would have relized some people like to get some info about people before Dealing with them(oh well I do all my own work anyway)

Is it me? or maybe I'm mistaken but doesn't anyone else that's been around for awhile recognize the 1g blue on westcoastdsm.com ?

This is completely not what I was looking for in this thread. I have sold my big trailer so I'm not going to be looking for racecars to be hauling around any longer.

I'm sure there are quite a few NW people who have figured out who West Coast is its not exactly hard.

Oh, and I never did get my money from "west coast" from previous deals under different screen names.
