Need help with engine rebuild

My motor started to knock bad, and i decided to rebuild the engine. I was wondering what i should do. I dont really know much bout 4 cylinder car or turbos. Bought this from step brother and he didnt take care of it really. I think this car has lots of potential with the right stuff. its a 96 talon TSi FWD.... Please help me.

well since themotor is already bad i suggest that yo u do a motor swap. What I mean by that is go with a 6-bolt instead. The stock six bolt will hold up to 450 houses to be safe.

It depends on how far you want to take your car. Looking at your mods there are plenty of things you can and need to do to get anywhere near 450hp. The cheapest and easiest with little down time would be to find a stock 2g 7bolt and swap it and build something on the side.
