Right turn make Metal to metal sound

Car started making a metal to meatal sound when I made a right hand turn. Sounds like worn brake pads. I checked the pads, they were like new, only been on there about 4 months.

Replaced wheel bearing and ball joints. I still have the same sound when making a right hand turn.

Where can this sound be coming from??? There isn't any rub spots showing anywhere.

Replaced the ball joints when I replaced the wheel bearings.

Tie rod ends look ok. Question is how can they create or contribute to the noise?

CV axels make a clicking noise when athey are going bad. My noise is a grinding just like when your brake pads get worn down to bare metal.

Are the caliper brackets loose? They could be moving and contacting the rotor.

Nope, checked that. Pulled the front wheels off again, retorqued the axels again just to make sure. Still can't find any sign of rubbing. Only makes the noise when you turn the wheels to the right any amount.

Left turns don't make any noise. No shimmy at higher speeds either. Slight wobble felt in the steering wheel around 75 mph.

same thing is happening to me except when i make left hand turns. Did you ever find a solution?

I found out my problem was the bearing on the half shaft. I'd completely forgotten about that one. At least everything I replaced needed it anyhow.

nice glad you found it. Tonight i jacked up the front of the car and took of the front wheels. I tuned the steering wheel, spun the rotors, checked for any play and didnt find anything that even made the slightest noise. Would i have heard the noise if it was the wheel bearing etc with the front end up and no weight on the suspension?

Hard to say. When I first started, I had a lot of play when shaking the wheel. I replaced the ball joints and the wheel bearings. Didn't have any movement in the wheel after that but still had to noise. I could feel a slight pull at different times when turning the wheel over by hand.

You have a 2g so your front end is different. Might be your problem, might not.

I was lucky in that my bearings were pretty shot anyhow. I would hate for you to replace your front hubs and just find out it was a brake pad dragging.

yea i know. Thanks for the help. Hopefully Ill stumble across it. However last night I noticed that my exhaust once again came off the hangers so it was dragging a lil. Now today the noise is not there. if that was the problem id be stoked
