ECMlink 3rd gear pull log

No doubt. I'm going with the "I have it, so it's free to me" route until I can swap to a better logging WBO2.

Right at 16psi on 2g timing per the Wik

Better, but not all good.

Pull is around 118s.

Time to up the boost! The 2g timing on the log seems to work well as a baseline.

Not really, though the 11.0:1 reading is the lowest I've seen in Link, even though the gauge reads >11 at WOT when boost comes on.

I'm a tad concerned with the knock (where I let off), so I'm nervous about turning up the wick for the moment. Add a touch of fuel?

Added a smidge of fuel, boost in the 22psi ballpark...new pull log.

More fuel around 5.5k?

I would make another pull when the car is fully warmed up also, but yes I would try adding some fuel in that area, as according to the AEM, you're getting up around 11.7:1

.88 on a 1g isn't as low as on a 2g front reading, this much I know.

On the 2g map, all power under the curve has gone to shit. Boost is "coming on" at 3500-3700. Not the smallest snail in there.

21psi on the nose, richened up, pull starts at 142s or so.

AEM now reads into the 10s on Link, but still seems a few .xx point off from my quick glances coming into boost.

Thomas...you still around? ;)

Still at 21psi. Pull till it knocked...and stayed in it for a sec after the CEL :coy:

As a test, what happens if you yank the timing sliders from 4500-6500 down to -16°? If you STILL see no change in knock retard, then there's a problem. If you do see a change, then at least you know it's a tuning issue and you can simply pull timing until it stops. *Why* you have to pull so much may be a mystery, but at least you'll be moving forward.

Good thought. I'll try to get that today or tomm in the AM on the way in to work.

Here's the clipped pull at the suggested timing levels...guess it isn't something banging around tripping the KS.

Geeze man, that is really crummy timing. The ~2g timing worked well in my 1g with 8.5s up till probably 24psi. Did you try just dumping that in (maybe smoothed out a bit)? Im running this if you want to try:
1.5k -1 .......... 2k -2 ............ 2.5k -1 ............. 3, 3.5k -5 .............. 4, 4.5, 5k -8 ................ 5.5k-10............... 6k-11........... 6.5k -6 ........... 7k-4 ............ 7.5, 8k-3

I have the same problem with my UEGO. I cant log the gauge face numbers with any real trust; however, a/f estimate seems to be right on in my car, I occasionally just gauge watch during pulls to check correlation.

The 2g timing left me with knock. :/

I'll start raising the sliders a click at a time.

Little (and I do mean little) clip of 2nd gear from this morning. Couldn't take the fun route to work.

Tires got a lil loose, but moving back up in the world of timing.:applause:

The WB logging issue is a bit perplexing, though. Without accurate WB data, it's really hard to gauge "good" timing values. If you're really running 11:1 on pump gas, for example, I would fully expect to pull a lot of timing.

Got any buffers back in? ;)

The WB logging is what kills me about the whole thing. I can assure folks all day that it drops off the gauge (11.1 is the last number seen IIRC) before Link sees it do so, but not everyone is inclined to trust my eyes. :)
