Well I still cant get my car to start after getting another EPROM ECU.

Before I took my computer to a guy who rebuilds them close to me, I put it in the car and the car started. It was for an automatic so I was running super rich. But now today after I got the ECU repaired last night, I put it in the car and nothing but the same shit that its been doing.

So I open up DSMLink and try to turn the fuel pump on, I get nothing. I try to fire the injectors, nothing. So I take the CAS out and turn it by hand but only the two middle injectors sound like they are firing and the fuel pump doesn't come on. But If I was turning the key you can hear the fuel pump (wally 255).

So I can only assume that the DSMLink chip is bad.

I can't find my DSMLink box at the moment to try the stock EPROM chip But this car is gone.

Who did the computer work? I have not heard of any Link failures but i don't have Link, nor access to their forums. Eproms typically never fail, i have never heard of one incident. Maybe someone with more experience with computers has?
Was the chip installed backwards possibly? Worth double checking.
Do you have any logs of it running poorly? Are you sure your CAS is functioning?

Nevermind,

The guy is a reputable ECU repair guy. The chip is not installed backwards.

I tried two CAS's both were working.

I can connect to DSMLink but when I press anything to test fuel pump or injectors I get nothing. I can't run a log. I can hear the fuel pump when the car is turning over but its not working if I just spin the CAS.

I just want to get this car running so I can sell the thing.

Pretty much. I never been a huge dsmer I just fell into it and started modding the car. I still think its either the ecu or the dsmlink chip. but the CEL comes on and the boost gauge goes to 0

ughh.

What's funny to me is how much effort he's going through to just get the car running, and once he gets it running he's just going to sell it. When a DSM is running is when it's the most fun.

:toobad: Wait so you're just straight up selling it for no reason? Are you just getting out of cars for sure or are you going to build something else?

And about the ECU/Link contact ECM about the problem.

I have contacted dsmlink and they said they have had only one chip go bad but it has to be it.

I tried that same ecu before I socketed it and it ran (was an auto eprom) so the only thing different is the dsmlink chip.

I cant find my dsmlink box that has the stock chip in it.

I'm just tired of the car in general, It's such a tempermental whore and I wont ever get to enjoy it. I will probably just buy a nice DD and drive it around.

Do you have a non-eprom to try? Are the plugs for the ecu seated all the way? are all the wires seating into the connectors all the way?

Yes they are.

I'm just so pissed off with this car. I want it gone hell I'm selling it for 4500 when it has over 2xs that in it. and it only has 67k on it.

Well PIMking. I'm going to miss your smart ass posts and your contributions to this site.
I'm sure you'll still come on... but I don't know.

Good luck with whatever you do. I'm seriously going to laugh when you buy another one in a couple months after selling that...
