I thought I would take a shot. Like the title says, is anyone out there doing this with their FWD drag car? I am running into a problem (excesive wheel hop) and I'm not sure if its related to the rear solids I did, or if it is just coincidence.

I am on 1000# rear springs so really close to solid. I had really bad wheel hop with street tires and drag radials. After I went to a slick I have no more wheel hop.

I've been running slicks for a long time on this car/suspension set-up (before the solids). Never had hop.
But I did discover something when I took a look at the car in the garage (I had blown up the tranny on the 1 to 2 shift). The passenger side axle is broken (in the cage). I don't know if this is cause or effect, so that's kinda a pain in the arse ;). With our cars and my power range, you can actually launch and run with a bad cage (I've done it).

So, I'm not positive that the hop was because of the struts or the axle.

I appreciate the input.

ive heard of some of the old turbo dodge guys doing this on their cars. not sure if its what caused your wheel hop or not though. also do you have solid motor mounts?

Yup solid and poly sides. Engine has pretty much no visual shift.

I searched around on the TD site prior to doing this and came up with one guy who tried it and said he had mixed results. Said his best times were on the AGX's (which is what I run).

The theory just works so well in my head, LOL.
