New 3Dmotorsports shop drag car build!!

Well we just picked this up in Wisconsin this weekend. We are building a drag shop car to try and compete with the other shops in the midwest. If there is anything you guys want to see on this that you have never seen before, let me know. Now on to some pics Its a 1993 eclipse gsx with 57000 mile's on it.

It was zip tied cause the bumper was not bolted to the car

It's never been done before and that's what you wanted to hear.... right?

Think about it. How many vendors offer parts for the 1.8L? You could start making custom parts and selling to the less forunate 1.8L guys that want to make big power on their tiny motor. What better way to show it's capable of it then to build your own shop car and go after some of the 4G63 guys?

Your right I should have been more clear. I wanted parts that you dont see being used all the time. This is going to be more of a budget build this year to show the everyday guy's what they can build on a 6 or 7 grand budget. We will be using a lot of used parts for 09 race year. We will be going all out for the 10 race year. Our goal is to run a 10.5 to 10.0 next year.

I started out small, and worked my way up. I actually worked out of my home garage for a few years. I was able to find a place within reason to rent. It's a 60x40 building with heat, electric and water. The previous user had set it all up and it works great for me. The best suggestion I can give is to not get too big too fast. Remembering that rent/payments are due even if you are slow is the best advice I have. I would love to have an even larger shop with an in house dyno, but it isn't within reach yet. I worked as a tech for a couple of dealerships before I went out on my own. Buying tools and equipment a little at a time over the last 15 years or so has made it much easier as well. I also hit local auctions looking for items that would normally sell for much more. Upkeep of the equipment is also very important, I personally hate buying something I already have because I didn't take care of it.

I agree on the idea of not going with the typical garret setup, but how about you go with a holset turbo setup its very budget type turbo

It's a 93 so build a damn 7 bolt for it like it should have. Then destroke it to a 2.1L and put a BW TS366 on it. Or built a Brian Crower 2.6L kit for it.

go with the BW, everyone does garrett. maybe you guys could work out a deal with BEP.

We are going to keep it 2.0L and use a 6bolt. All the 7bolt's we have at the shop have holes in them.

Good lookin build so far and i like the budget build idea. Have you decided on which engine managment you are going to use. i think useing the link and puting it into the deep 9's would be unique or going with something less used like the squirt.
