I bought my car all one color because someone painted it. I wish it was still factory with the black top.

Thats really the only issue I'm going to have to deal with... Having a different color engine bay, or paying alot more to have it done right. I'm leaning towards having it done right, so there will be only the one color throughout. I know that the paint job alone will most likely be more than what I paid for the car, but I already exceeded that with my first repair bill! I fell in love with this car from the moment my brother brought it back from Colorado, and this is my money pit, my pride and joy. No sense half-assing the paint job, eh? I have to agree with the majority who have posted and voted here, in keeping the car two-toned. I'm really excited to see how she looks! I'll be sure to post pictures after I get it done (gotta wait for Christmas leave for that, the paint-shop is in LA).

Yeah, like captian said, its a trade mark of the talon. When i had my 95 talon tsi, i wanted to paint the car a different color too, but in the end kept it the factory tropical lime green and Black top! keep it black up top

I agree, a different color engine bay would get REALLY annoying unless it was 2 colors that mixed okay (red/black, white/black), but not blue and barcelona red(purple:p)

Be sure to post lots of pictures once you get it done!

Just look at your poll you made. 22-8 more in favor of the black top, but it's your car. Like I said the black top is a trade mark of Talon. Also there aren't to many talons riding around out there. I love it when I see another one.

Bought a 2g gsx that will need paint. Previous paint job of black was done terribly, and it was baby blue before that, neon green before than, then the stock red. So, looking for some suggestions on colors.

My thoughts lean towards grays. I used to own a Sandstone 3000gt, and a grey 2g (forgot the color name). Let me know what you think. Pics always help....and this will be on a budget since the car only cost $850

EDIT - Not really looking to go 100% stock color. So feel free to throw out any color ideas. Not looking flashy tho.

I wanna say 1st off hey whats up to the MI DSM owners :)

and second are you looking for more of a "stock" grey color or something different in the grey area?

ps: im actualy painting my TSI right now haha (black)

Ya the dsm silver/gray is sick. I love it. I would go with that if that is what you like. And whats up to another mi dsmer LOL

If your looking for stock colors, and grey go with it. i like that read pearl color they made in the 2gs. I like the look of flat black also, but thats not everyone's taste.

Lol my Wrangler I drive everyday got flat blacked (with truck bed liner) over the summer.

I painted my 1g this past summer, it's call Black Pearl Slate, it's a Ford color...

The pictures honestly don't do justice. Depending on the sun sometimes the car looks grey/black/green/purple. Everytime I take it to work someone I work with always asks if I painted it another color again because it's never the same color from when they have seen it.

I wanted to do something black, I worked at a ford plant (assembled bumpers) during the summer and I always thought that Black Pearl Slate was a nice looking color so that's what I ended up doing. Go to a body shop, tell them what you're looking for and ask for some paint samples, they should be able to head you in the right direction.
