So here is the problem about a month ago my alternator decided to take a dump (well the voltage regulator died). Which normally isn’t that bad….. normally. The over charging took out my battery, the AFC, my auto seat belts, and my turbo timer. Anyway everything has been replaced and now the new AFC II will no shut off when the car is turned off. The first night after I retuned the car the AFC II stayed on all night and almost drained the battery dead. Has anyone had this problem before? I checked and rechecked all of the fuses and the wiring to the AFC II. The ECU does making a clicking sound like it did before the surge, but normally the AFC would go off after that. I am at a loss

The AFC was wired wrong and is seeing a constant 12v which explains why it is always on.

What you need to do is find the power wire (RED) at the AFC harness and cut it.
Tape over the end of the RED cut wire that is on the cars harness since we won't be using this anymore.
Take off your steering column and open up the ignition key harness.
Splice into the thick black/white ignition power wire and solder your RED wire into it.

Now your AFC will turn off when you turn the key to the OFF position.
