That's a nice Mid Western town. Does that mean you are driving a Waukesha powered Talon? Dresser, Inc.

Well, you were asking about Mid West wise guys.

Because a majority of these cars were originally purchased by nerdy white guys who weren't into gold chains and mullets (ahem F-body owners), and there's a heavy abundance of us in the midwest. The DSM group realized this and so built their main plant right in the middle of us all in Illinois.

I live in Waukesha too -- right down the street from Dresser, Inc (Waukesha Engine).

My fiaance has family in Waukesha. We were actually up there for a long weekend around christmas. Next time we head up that way I'll have to let you know in advance. :thumb:

Definitely! I am usually around, and am always happy to talk it up with fellow DSM'ers!

It's cause someone told them that a DSM would make a good substitute vehicle for a tractor pull.

"It's turbocharged AND has good traction for the dirt!"

Not all of us worry about driving on dirt. The road by my house was black topped four or five years ago. Why I can even get all the way to Grubville without driving on dirt.

Not that there's anything wrong with driving on dirt.

It really does seem like all the best-versed DSMers are from the midwest...

Prez, who pioneered the use of Megasquirt on DSMs, is from Des Moines, Iowa.

You know where all the wisemen are? Michigan. Thats one thing I've noticed over the years.. it seems like all the wise guys are in and around motor city. dave99GST, project_tsi, blackGSX2g, 99GST_racer, and the list goes on...

FWIW I'm only about 45 minutes south of Michigan as well so that even further strengthens the region for dsm knowledge

Should we make a "Wiseman" Map to see overall regional concentrations? Fun, but will likely prove the Midwest with the highest density.

I would have to agree that's it's mostly dude to the fact of having the Normal, IL plant nearby which most likely influenced all the gear heads around the Midwest to get into DSMs thus developing the majority of the knowledgeable and experienced DSM gurus in the midwest!

tada LOL..
