ok im geting a GT3571R i did some searching and couldnt find much out about this turbo. im wondering what its max hp is and what i should see for spool times. also its water cooled and oil cooled correct? or is it just oil cooled?

3571r?

I thought they came in .63, .82 and 1.06

You should be looking at 400-600ish depending on tune and boost levels run, condition of engine, fuel grade etc.

It is oil and water cooled.

Spool times, depending on engine, 2.4L about 4k, 2.0L about 5k I would say. I am getting 20psi at 4500 on a built 2.0 7 bolt.

TurboByGarrett.com - Catalog

It looks like honestly there are many, many better turbos for our cars out there, which might explain why I never have heard of someone running it before. Unless you're getting a steal on it I would say there are many better turbos out there, the numbers Garrett provides (250-390hp) are close to 16g/20g. If you're set on that wheel then there the GT3071R which I believe uses the same wheel and is rated for more power, or the GT3076R, which there is a plethora of info on this site. Like I said, I would look elsewhere unless you have a great deal.

EDIT: EE-I believe that the last two numbers denote the exducer size of the comp wheel, i.e. 3076R has a 76mm comp wheel, GT3571R would therefore have a 71mm wheel i believe.

DO NOT BUY THAT TURBO! That turbo is from a diesel generator. Not only is it a piece of shit it is also stolen. The guy that is trying to sell that was just recently caught steeling and robbing other DSMers. This guy has been banned from our local forum.

thanks! I was looking at that turbo, and searched to see what others had to say about it.

I went to go buy this turbo about 4 months. I realized it was a pile when I saw that the turbo takes a J pipe and the guy said. "Every Gt35r I have seen takes a J pipe"

Yes unless you are looking for a turbo in great shape for your diesel generator.....

wonder what would happen if someone did install that thingy

You would be really disappointed and wish you didn't spend the money. And you would be pissed off that you could have bought a brand new 14b for less and make more power.......

The compressor housing and turbine housing is HUGE but the wheels are tiny........
