I have a set of eBay projectors now. The cut-off is surprisingly tight, but it is not very straight. The cut-off is tilted a bit, where the left of both beams is higher than the right, but not horribly. Also, the range of adjustability is lacking - I had to shim the lower mount bolt to get them pointed off the ground.
In MY particular case, I wouldn't have an issue with the added light output an HID kit would offer, but keep in mind, quality is less than a second thought for the generic lamp housing manufacturers, so YMMV.
I would recommend a name brand projector or a retrofit.
