Just to let you guys know, I have been in contact with OBX several times regarding these manifolds, and I have explained to them about all issues everyone was having with installation. They are to look into the fitment and make corrections. So hopefully they will be a "direct fit" soon enough...

Yeah that would be cool. It's really not that bad. I kinda wish now I would have tried the manifold without the new housing to do a before after thing and show the problem rather than just the solution.

Ok well I got the right exhaust side for my turbo the only thing that is in the way is the mount L shaped braked at the beginning of the water outlet tail(Pipe out teh back of the water pump). You have to either dent the bracket again not the ipie the backet or you coudl probably just use a cutter and take it off. I don't remember what mounint to it or whatever because I have removed shit around there like the AC stuff and stock o2 sensor braket stuff. ANyway all in all looks good I"ll have picture buy the end of today.

Here's what I have so far. The things I have to take care of before I mount it for good though. One between the manifold and turbo no one managed to send me a t3 flange so I have to get one of those and I need to clock this compressor housing so it will go in and not hit the radiatorcause right now it's pointing stright toward it. Last the manifold will def need another couple of coats because from install its chipped a little. All minor thing but like I said here;s what I got

This is the turbo on a mock mount but not on the car yet. Turbo is a holset HX40w with t3 .70ar V-band hotside Rated to over 65lbs/min

Yeah you're going to have alot of trouble making room for your downpipe. Not that it matters, but your set-up is ass backwards from the traditional 420-t. Like I said, not that it matters, and it's always great to be innovative and think outside the box, but it might bite you in the rear later down the install. Looks good thus far.

I"m a 4g63 guy so I look at all 420a turbo cars as ass backwards . BUt I already mock fitted it and the dp will be easy. As soon as my t3 gasket an inline filter come in Im gonna mount for real and take some pictures.

It makes more sense to mount it that way, because you have the WG on that side as well. The only other car I've seen with that manifold, had the turbo mounted the other way and the WG was pretty much right on top of the compressor. Now, I know that if you have a FMIC, the air will cools off some, but you starting with hotter air making the IC work harder...

It makes more sense to mount it that way, because you have the WG on that side as well. The only other car I've seen with that manifold, had the turbo mounted the other way and the WG was pretty much right on top of the compressor. Whatsize turbo you run or want to run will dictate what you can and can't do pretty much. Like I kinda got stuck because the holset's have a type of exhaust housing style where when I mounted it, it actually put it too close to the starter. A simple spacer bewteen the turbo and manifold pushed it away enough though and I have a heat shield for the starter which I would recommend with this manifold no matter what. I can have my dump from my wastegate plumb rght back into mymain exhaust at a favorable angle and like he said I won't have to heat up the intake air befor it's even been compressed. As for a intake I had planned on using just a filter on the turbo anyway like you see. I didn't get a chance to see if I have room now after the spacer but before the spacer def not intake friendly mainly because of powersteering though. If I take out powersteering I would have a cool intake that I would probably put by the fender opening for a cold air type get up. That's all for now more updates to come

^I like to be subtle Is the wastegate just going to be an open dump on that setup Mark or will some sort of pipe be ran? Also curious as to how the coolant will flow through that radiator hose setup going on

I have the same style downpipe going on. I picked up a XSpower universal 3" dp which is suposed to be for a civic and I"m going to modify it to fit perfect. You figure a 3.5" vbandis like 40 bucs or so for the set and the clamp I spent 60 on the dp so i seemed more reasonable even thogh I could have had a dp made from scratch. Not to mention it's already fitted with 2 o2 bungs one for the regular o2 sensor one for the wideband.

Not gonna get to mess with this much cause after talking to tuner after turner and nate who was going to be tuning the car it's just not worth it trying to squeez out 19-20psi with this setup. I picked up a 1g tsi awd that I'm gonna throw the holset on and the 420a is going back to it's routes as a Non turbo high reving beast aybe with spray. I already put the obx manifold up for sale in the classifieds. Hope other people see this and realise it fits and it's a good buy.

WHo said it's not going to be big still I still have something coming that will make my car unique and I still hae the obx with q45 to test out. Plenty of stuff still going on. My only reason for not boosting is that my goals are beyond my bild. I wanted to make 500 or more whp and with 10:5:1 compression it would be money better spent on something awd. NOt to mention I found a shell with a 10 point cage for like 1100 that has a 4 bolt rear and a clean body. The holset will be going on that and the gs will be a setup more like bullets 12:1 car. I don't build stuff to be average trust me this car will still suprise most people.

I still want to keep contributing to the 420a comunity. Like I don't see why there is such a big gap in the 1/4 mile list with these cars. Asolid 12 sec 420a on the bottle will still be fun and the 1g tsi will be shoe horned with a stroker now that my job changed us over to comission

Yeah I don't think you are thinking realisitically. Bullett puts years and years of RD and time into his ar to run what it does. A few trick parts isn't going to get you there. Good luck running the 12's n/a.

Yeah the car was running NA before I started messing with boosting it. No I def don't plan on running 12's NA I would be on the bottle. yeah it was very obvious to me that you meant 12's on the bottle. As long as the internals can handle the spray (which I don't see why they couldn't) I don't see a problem running 12's on the bottle. Sad to see you're not gonna boost the rs though.

Yeah I"m gonna leave the boost and 10:5:1 compression to mark but I think this car will still be pretty quick once everything is up and running right. I'm like a little kid the night before christmas waiting for his one part to get here . It's hard not to spill the beans but this part will make up for not going boost no bs.

I hope so. You keep hyping your car up but I really don't see whats so special about it. Not to be a dick but it's getting old.

When are you going to have it running or atleast engine bay pics (of these uber trick parts installed)or dyno sheets or anything???
