Alright! I'm planning on going up to Ohio for the shootout, but I don't want to go alone! The 18th is just in case it rains one of the days. I'd love to drive but my car can't make it and I don't want to foot ALL the gas...so let's make a car pool to Norwalk, Ohio!

Here's what I'm thinking. We leave here on the 14th, drive there for the Shootout on the 16th, 17th and possibly the 18th, then drive back down. Everyone pitches in $100 for gas (will vary depending on the amount of people) and we either rent a car (split between us all), or drive someones reliable Honda up to Ohio. We can camp out at the track so make sure to bring tents!

Anyone interested in joining me, call me at 512 299 0377 or text. If I don't get enough people, then I'm just going to fly up, but I'd rather go with a bunch of DSM friends...you know...reppin' The Lone Star State. LOL We need at LEAST 5 people including myself, but the more the better!!

Let's make the deadline August 1st...just so that if we don't get enough people, everyone can still book a flight in time.

Better hope Norwalk doesn't have drainage problems again like last Friday so disappointing.

Its a 20 hour drive eek! but i would ask for the 16-18 off.

oh and if we get enough ppl, we can take my Navigator so we dont have to all cramp up an a rental car ROFL. It gets 15-20mpg, fits about 6-7 people but its very comfortable with dvd and everything.

ok i did the estimate, Its about a 20hr drive about 1350 miles to get there and for gas bein what it is... it would cost about $720 to get there and back.. if we divide that by 5ppl $144 a piece...6 ppl $120 a piece... 7 ppl $103 a piece...

I also did the research on flight, since there is no airport in Wakeman Ohio, you would have to take a bus from the next nearest city. The flight would cost about $350 not including additional fees ie. taxes, luggage check fees, round trip, Bus to Wakeman and back etc..

Just a thought, I don't think there are any of these up there, but I work for InterContinental Hotels Group. If we get one of the following hotels, I can probably get it for somewhere between $29-$49 per night.

InterContinental
Crowne Plaza
Hotel Indigo
Holiday Inn
Holiday Inn Select
Candlewood Suites
Staybridge Suites
Holiday Inn Express

I know some people staying in this hotel, they said they have the cheapest rates....if everybody wanted to stay in 1 room it would be about $45 per person for both nights (5 people).

We COULD do that, but personally I'm wanting to save all my spending money for the fun stuff at the track. I'm more than willing to camp at the track. But if a Hotel is what everyone wants, I'm down...just gonna be a little cramped.

Personally I'm asking for the 14th thru the 23rd off (I might not be riding back with you guys, I'm possibly going to visit a friend in PA for the last days)

Make sure you give yourself some wiggle room. I figure a good bet would be to leave mid to late afternoon on the 14th. That way 1. we have extra time if we need it for whatever reason and 2. so we can take a damn NAP when we get to Ohio! I don't wanna be drooling and snoring all over cars! LOL

I'm gonna be the first to bi*** out. Sorry guys. I'm launching a site for a client and I'm gonna be way too involved to just dip on them like that.
