Its not a big gain. But every lil bit helps.
I searched and saw that some of the turbo guys use them.

They're pretty cheap too and self sealing so you don't have to buy new gaskets all the time....if you open it up a lot.

I JUST put one on my car. I installed it straight up with no problems. I hate forgetting to order gaskets.

ya, I just got mine in the mail, but I was also wondering about one for teh head-to-IM.

Symtechlab one is for between teh 2 manifolds.
wait, is the Hondata one even for the head? cause I saw the pic and it doesnt look like its for puting in between teh manifolds.

I would think hard about why you want a spacer between the head and the intake manifold rather than solely between the upper and lower intake manifold sections. Air only spends a short amount of time in the lower intake manifold compared to the upper section. The plenum not only distributes the intake charge across the runners, but holds a reserve of air. It's most important that this part of the intake manifold assembly be isolated from heat to prevent conduction to the incoming charge. Conversely, any sort of thick gasket/spacer between the head and intake manifold risks disturbing the injector spray pattern and possibly interrupting air flow at a rather critical junction in the induction pathway.

Well since I doubt anybody has tried. Ill try it out and see how it ends up working. If it messes something up or dont like it. ill put it on craigslist or something.

Try what, the Neon gasket? It should work, though there will be extra material for the thermostat housing since theirs is on the intake side of the head. Keep in mind the materials used in the gasket too. Find out what each company uses... polyethylene is a poor choice as it conducts heat well and distorts over time.

hmm, while im at it might as weel just take the head of replace headgasket and replace teh studs with ARPs. and see what I can do about the extra material.
Heck while im there might aswell replace all this too.

Shit. I've got to agree with you, even though I just installed the Hondata with my E3 IM. What would you consider "thick"? Guess I'll see how it works out over the next year or so.

Just like how a baby would stare a oulet for a second or 2 before trying to put their finger in there. except well....we dont know exactly that its a bad thing. not really a good comparison but ya.

There are several 1/2" thick spacers floating around 2GNT, but of course, they too fit between the upper and lower portions of the intake manifold. I wouldn't use anything over 1/8" between the intake manifold and head.

A half an inch?! Damn that's thick. Good thing mine's only about 1/8th of an inch (maybe a sliver smaller - my caliper ruler was no where to be found right before the install).

I would be interested in one between the head and and manifold too(I have a obx manifold). 1/2" is thick but I know they make them that thick if not thicker for the 4g63 motor. I know a local that used one with a forrestor(I think that's the brand name) SMIM and he said it lowered iat's a descent amount.
