Even with e85 hot weather sucks

God, i can't stand how much power i lose from a 50* night to a 75 or so degree day with a little humidity

At 24psi in the summer my car feels about the same at 17 when it's cool out.

I started playing with pre-turbo meth again today trying to play with the air properties, and even though there's an improvement, it's nothing like the feeling of some nice cool ambient air, it's almost as good as nitrouse

I try to stay out of boost during the daytime when its over 80 degs out here.

FWIW, I did a true cold air intake a while back by dropping the filter down into the fenderwell were the stock side mount used to be and the intake temps on average were about 30-40 degs cooler, especially on idle temp.

Yea, i've moved the filter there years ago, the e85 does seem to make better power when it's hot out, but having such a laggy turbo makes for getting off the line in traffic to be a nightmare, i just feel like i have to drive with the pedal to the floor to get anywhere

If your still on the stock IM,, Try a cyclone manifold, just make sure to properly port it out and you wont loose no power up top, but will probably spool that turbo a good 500rpms quicker and pull more torque thru the midrange....

Also, curious, do you run internal gated or external?

I'm exteranlly gated. I've been wanting a cyclone mani for long time now, and i can get one for 25 bucks, i just don't feel like swapping it out just yet. The haltech has provisions for handling dual runner manis as well so i wouldn't be fooling some other out put to power it, it would have the optins to switch runners just like a factory car utilizing it fromthe manufacturer

That would be badass, and you will have decent gains with it if you set it up right.
A stiff waste gate spring thats close to the psi your mbc is set to in your external would help boost come on faster too vs a lighter pressured spring that would begin to open sooner. You can also try out cam gear tuning, and setting afr and timing a bit more aggressive in the lower rpms to add some torque down there. Im sure all in all you can make that turbo hit a lot harder and sooner.

If you dont mind the minimum boost being so high, go for the 21 or 23 psi spring combo.
That should make the turbo pick up significantly in spool do to less pressure lose from it opening earlier. I bet that will make the car feel more like it was running no w.g. signal hose up intill it opens; not to mention it may help with boost drop off some when you are pushing the turbo in the higher rpms/pressure ratios.

I actually plan on externally gating my 16g sometime later in the year and getting the 21psi spring; im about to go Maf, blow thru very soon so ill see what that does for the car.

Well, the issue is that the replacement cap for my wastegate to allow me to run thsoe springs is only 45 bucks, but i ordered it back in november and it's been on back order since I'm about to try adn find a used wasteage cap off an ebay wastegate that will use the tial type big and small springs ( i know they are out there) and just use that cap on my tials base. I'm despereate to run 30 psi and a set of slicks for most of the summer

75 degrees? That's not hot. Be thankful you don't race in 85 degrees and 70% humidity. 50 degrees is freezing ass cold for me. I never get to run in that kind of weather.

Our average summer days are 90+ with 80% humidity. We are just starting to warm up here, i was just noting how much difference i can feel already. Last year was unusually hot and there was a few days i thought my car was about to blow up it was so low on power. I'm hoping water injection will make some notable differences this year though
