Yes I have read, and read and read some more!

I just have a few last minute questions\reassurance points.

I have to port the Outlet of the Exhaust mani(the collector are I believe its called, correct me if I'm wrong please)
I know I have to port the turbo Inlet to 7CM, which clears up room for the gases to have easy access to the wastegate.
Port inlet to this: http://www.vfaq.com/proj-pics/porting/turbo-inlet08.jpg
I have to port behind the wastegate flapper so that it can open the full 90*.
I have to port the O2 housing to get rid of the little lip on the downpipe side.

I am not clear on what I need to port exactly on these places:

The inlet of the O2 housing: This Area----> http://vfaq.com/proj-pics/porting/O2housing01.jpg
For this area, Do I just port out the little bit and gasket match? Do I only gasket match on the O2 Housing side?

Also, the Wastegate hole. How much do I port there? I have the stock flapper still.

My main goal is to eliminate boost creep before I even have it(full 3" Turbo back over winter).

Now if anyone knows I'm wrong in any way, shape or form, please feel free to correct me.

Another thing that really works well here is a cartridge roll, especially for cleaning up after the carbide.
You can quickly remove the chatter marks and leave a very smooth finish.

FMSC - Cartridge Rolls and Mandrels

I've seen these and wondered how they'd do compared to flap wheels. The flap wheels seem to conform to the part, but it seems that you'd have to angle the rolls properly or you'd just add other flatspots. Also, I wonder how long they last (flap wheels don't last too long). If you've used both, I'd appreciate your opinion. Just curious.:thumb:

Cartige rolls work great and last quite a while.
Sometimes if your using an el'cheapo, they will blow apart if you over speed them but on the whole, they're pretty damn cool.
I keep a mess of them in an old coffee can:)
Cartrige rolls are more aggresive than a flap wheel.

heres how mine ended up, 7cmn Gasket Matched

any up date on how yours look? what did you do about the o2 housing?

Hey sorry about the updates\pics. I found out that my Dad took the Digital cam with him to the mine he works at so I could not update. Mine look almost identical to yours. except the manifold. I left a little bit more meat on the 'middle lip' whatever its actually called.

EDIT: the answers i got are now in red: Thanks everyone

Hey i am thinking of doing some porting, but since most of you are more of an expert than i am, i thought i would ask you intelligent DSM'rs.

So the tools i need are basically a...
(1) die grinder and a double-cut carbide 1/4 shank (prob 2), and then gotta do some sanding (80 and 120 grit)? everything
(2)
Will i need more then one carbide tip if im doing 02 housing, exhaust mani and turbo inlet? ill need two
(3)Also, im reading all this stuff about grinding behind the flapper, where is it located? I know where it is now
(4) im assuming i will have to take off the turbo to do the inlet? just drop the housing
(5) i want to port my 2nd gen exhaust mani, but was also thinking of getting an evo III exhahust mani BUT if i port my stock one now, will it flow as nice as the evo III ? im gonna keep stock exhaust mani as i heard it can handle up to 400 whp ported and flow nice
(6) i was told i have to wear more then just safety glasses (a full plastic face mask), this true? Def getting full face mask!
(7) i bought an xs power 02 housing off ebay: i want to port it, but don't know if it will already flows good enough, any takers?
my new 02 housing isnt cast iron, its welded, so not a good idea to port it, i would have to be very careful, but looks like it will flow good anyways
im buying the carbide tips off ebay for like $10 each i believe

Carbide burrs make nasty chips that get everywhere.
Cast iron isn't too bad but steel makes needle like chips that you do not want stuck in your skin.
Long sleeves, a close fitting collar and a hat would be things to think about. Safety glasses are manditory but a face shield is better.
