I'm using extremepsi.com for all these parts just to get a base price of what all I'll need. I know I should be able to find a lot of these parts cheaper elsewhere but I need to know things like... do I actually need some of these more expensive brands or can some of them be knockoffs and be fine? or are there better deals? Do I actually need a 5 inch thick intercooler? what am I missing? stuff like that. I'm getting the butcher stroker crank and crower aluminum rods from ffwdconnection.com for $1319 and custom ground 290 cams and all this....

Heard great things about the HTA turbos. However its a bit pricey IMO. People have been putting down similar numbers/times/spool up on a Borgwarner S362, and they are loads cheaper. Just make sure you look at atleast a .70AR or larger.

1000 Extreme Turbo Systems 12" Ultra Race Intercooler Kit 2G DSM

loads of different options here. I know there are some spearco options here for cheaper. Up to you.

260 TiAL 50mm Q Blowoff Valve #21495
220 Tial 38mm Wastegate #16320

The knock off ebay versions of the wastegate and the BOVs are good quality from my experience and much cheaper. Also 38MM wastegate might be a bit small depending on how low you plan on running your boost.

193 aem fuel rail

fuel rail is a bit premature for someone looking at 600WHP ish.

95 walbro 255 fuel pump

For the HTA or 362 this is a bit underfueled if you want the full potential. Would say either a twin walbro setup or a Bosch 044 pump with -6 or -8 fuel lines should do the trick.

40 NGK Wires
Need alot more than wires for an ignition system for 600WHP. I believe the stock ignition system is good for around the 450ish or so, give or take some. Lots of choices here for upgrade, could go COP with an ignition box, or short fatty wires with aftermarket coils either way.

80 Cometic head gasket
Believe it or not the big boys run the fel pro headgaskets up to 50+ PSI. Cometic is not a necessity.

1665 Aem ems
great standalone. Not a need. People have ran 9's I believe on DSM link and made up to about 550WHP on a 2g MAF, but again there is nothing wrong with the AEM.

This stuff is just my opinion. I like to be a bit on the cheaper side but thats just me. :)

Ohh and 1000CC injectors are quite a bit cheaper I noticed than the 1150s....Someone back me up here...but 1000CC injectors should be good for around the 600WHP ish power on race gas give or take some.

that was a great response and exactly what i was looking for, I'll be looking into all of that tomorrow, thanks

Im sure it has but if I can get an AEM EMS for about 1k it'll be worth it, it is so much better.....

DSMLINK has been the 8's. The stock ignition system is fine for 600.

Most people that I know of have problems in the 450-500 range with stock ignition. remember its relative.... Some person may have magically made 600 WHP on stock ignition...doesn't mean everyone will. There is just so many variables that its almost impossible to account for everything, the same goes for injector sizing, and HP on fuel pumps , and of course then you variables like mustang dynos, and dynapacks, non-load bearing dynos etc etc. All you can really do is give a rough estimate, its never going to be right on. Honestly I have never heard of anyone making 600WHP on stock ignition, but you always have someone that magically claims it has happened somewhere.

As far as the dsmlink and 8s...I couldn't remember what they claimed on their site...I knew it was a single digit pass. I knew it was 8s or 9s just couldn't remember which.... but you missed the point of what I was trying to say.

Yeah I also never saw cams, or a SMIM manifold or TB in there. If it were me I would look at the FP3 cams for your stroker, JMF SMIM because its proven and cheap, and a 75MM TB. As someone else mentioned in the earlier posts.. A built tranny from Shep Racing would definately be on the cards.

I'm getting some custom cams and I'm going to wait to blow my tranny before I worry about getting a built one. Mine is supposed to be a used stage 3 shep but I doubt it actually is. The manifool and throttle body are going to have to wait a minute too.

I should be able to let you know if I make it to 450-500 awhp in the next few days and you can see what I have for my setup when it gets all put together.

I originally wanted to run the hta but FP was so far behind on these orders that after waiting almost 2 months I canceled the order and purchased the s362.

Even I am interested to know. Let me know too :) Sounds sweet. good luck!

I would disagree with this, strongly. If there is one thing you should never skimp on its a headgasket, im not disagreeing with you that they can hold up to 50+psi but why push your luck if in 2 seasons you are replaceing a blown headgasket and have to redo all that you have done! i mean you could warp the head and then all your new valves are useless because you have already shaved the head, and you have to remachine everything. OR you can spend a few 100$ more and save yourself money and hassle down the road. that seems silly and its not like you arent saving money on other parts, so use some of that to spring for the cometic.

Also you must figure in how much its gonna cost to install/machine all of this. This is assuming that you are taking it to a shop to have installed, because ive found some of the shops prices to be a real eye opener.

This is where I'm at now....

1700 GT3582HTA Ball Bearing Turbocharger
1000 Extreme Turbo Systems 12" Ultra Race Intercooler Kit2G DSM
1170 PTT Twin disc clutch
260 TiAL 50mm Q Blowoff Valve #21495
360 Tial 44mm Wastegate #16320
248 supertech 1mm over intake and exhaust valves
430 Ross racing pistons
40 NGK plugs
40 NGK Wires
132 Greddy timing belt
80 Cometic head gasket
40 Non cruise control throttle cable
250 FP Race manifold
1150 Aem ems off dsmsource
1319 crank, rods, egr block off from ffwd
450 kiggly beehive springs
150 kiggly girdle
250 for radiator from punishment racing
400 for the 290 cams from jake
300 for the timing belt stuff and gaskets
50 for the turbo timer from mike
540 for the high flow fuel system from ffwd
375 FIC 1150 injectors
95 walbro 255 fuel pump

still need: cam gear sensor, alternator, starter, water pump, ignition, intake, water pipe, t-stat housing, 3g lifters

future: inline fuel pump

I am going to run a cometic, if not, then better. Greddy kevlar timing belt the best choice or would an OEM hold up better/just as good?

The FelPro MLS units are the one's that the race cars use FYI, not a standard Felpro gasket. The Cometic's are known to have problems, I wouldn't skimp on that.

Honestly, I think your priorities are a bit off. 290 cams? Do you even realize how big those are? And no SMIM? With the cams, 35r and built head, you will be getting some big airflow at high RPM's. You realize the powerband will be ruined with a restrictive 2g intake manifold. At that horsepower, even a 1g intake manifold can't flow enough.

AEM EMS? What makes you think you will be making that much more power with the $1k+ standalone compared to the $500 PROVEN tuning device that thousands of 35r guys use and love.

Kiggly race valvetrain? WHY?

What about an o2 housing, bearings, misc gaskets, head studs and full exhaust?

Also, the pricing is a bit off. $40 for NGK plugs? BPR8's are all you need buddy, thats $15 tops.

Sounds like you need to do some more research and start with something simpler, learn from experience that all the fancy parts in the world won't get you a fast car. Skipping steps and spending a lot on some things and not a lot on others is a BAD IDEA. It's better to have an all around car.
