man I am a big guy 6 3 250 and used to be a powerlifter. Big forearms. I had a hard time getting to the bolts on the underside of the intake manifold. I had to remove the uic pipe and the throttle body and the big bracket that holds the intake manifold to the block and went at it from the passenger side. My battery is already in the trunk. For how big relatively small the a/c compressor (and it cast iron bracket that holds it to the block is) it's pretty damn heavy. I have heard of people pulling it out thru the bottom and now that it is out and I have that whole side of the engine bay open I can't see that being any easier. The intermediate shaft definitively would have to come out. It would probably be easiest to do it with a combination of above and under car effort but I didn't feel like jacking the car up last night and crawling under it.
