idk what is wrong with my nt talon.

at first it seamed like it was the mas sensor but now i have replaced it and the car is still acting up. its running so rich. ive tried all new sensors and everything. now the car wont even rev above 1k with out holding the throttle wide open.

if someone would stop by my house and help me out that would be great. this is my only working car to drive.

i have a full shop and alot of tools but i dont have any diagnostic stuff.

oh and the cat turned bright red today.

im betting there is somthing stuck in your cat thats blocked it and so the car wont put down power cause theres too much back pressure caused by the blockage. I know thats why your cat is red, casue its getting so hot. My buddy had a car come in like that at jiffy lube and the dude blew the engine casue it was clogged. Thats my best guess, so remove it start the car and see how it runs.

ok the cat no longer turns red. but it is running at 900 rpm idle then will jump up to 2k idle. still running really rich. i have all the sensors hooked up. i just dont know why it is at high idle and then will gfo back to normal. it dosnt surge but its just acting weird.

i am going to see if i can borrow a code reader and find out exactly whats wrong.

yeah im goin to go down and buy some new plugs for it. i now can drive it but it hesitates at 4k. but if i keep it wide open i can get to redline. im going to try to get it on a scan tool tomorrow. i got a book that tells what all the codes mean.

The cat turns red because you were running rich not the other way around. The more gasoline coming out your exhaust, the hotter the cat gets. That is how it gets rid of it. O2 sensor? I don't know if this would ever apply with a DSM but would the ecu still be in some kind of safe mode from realizing it had a bad maf?

i have switched between 2 o2 sensors. but now the car is running a little better. i still have to go wot to get past 4k.

it idles alot better now to. maybe its reprogramming itself

I don't know much about the NTs. I'm looking to get rid of my TSi if you are tired of fiddling with the NT though ;) Seriously though, I am selling it, and if I knew more about the NT I would jet over there and help.
