I tried searching but everything I found related to how much boost is safe with a 16g, my question is with an almost stock car is it safe to run a 16g? I haven't gotten it completely off yet but I'm pretty sure my turbo housing is cracked since it was spewing exhaust and the gasket looks fine, so as long as I need a new turbo I was going to upgrade but that leaves me without any money for supporting mods, can I just run the turbo at its minimum boost and be okay? I'm looking at the evo III 16g from RRE.

Mods list in my profile is current but pretty much just a boost gauge, JoeP MBC, RRE UICP with 1g BOV, and a K&N FIPK.

Dude, you can run your 16g just fine on there.. you will need a 2g install kit, but you can use that turbo stock.. keep it under 10 psi, and you are gold.. any higher, and I suggest tuning.. you will totally notice the difference between a t25 and a 16g at the same psi...

you can definetly put a 16g on your car. but make sure you dont over boost..i say no more than 12psi..but if you want more boost you should look into buying some bigger injectors than stock and some tunning

You will be good with your injectors right now.. A walbro 190 lph (or a 255 with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator) fuel pump and a fuel pump rewire will get you some more fuel, then get something to tune with, like an SAFC or dsmlink or dsmap or something to that effect.. If you get an SAFC, you need something to datalog with as well..

Get an 2.5" exhaust as well.. You can get some nice power from that, and it will let your turbo spool up faster...

I would like to get some of the other parts but a new turbo will be wiping out all of my extra spending money for quite a while, thanks though as long as I can run it safely and I'm not taking a performance hit then I'll upgrade and squeeze the power out of it later, sounds like I'll have fun just having it on the car though.

yeah.. you could take it up to 12 psi, if you can watch it for knock.. keep it 10 and under and you will be cool.. It will be a big difference, considering that the t25 flows about half the air that the the evo 16g...
