Tuned my car with 93 and 91 octane today

As the title says, I tuned the car with 93 octane and also 91 octane... What a difference.

With the 93 Octane I was able to achieve 441 whp and 350 tq. This was @ 25 psi and very conservative timing. Im using an aem ems and knock voltage was around 2 volts max. With 91 octane I was only able to get away with 390 whp and 289tq. This run was about 20 psi. Full boost was @5000 rpm and pulls great to 7500. After that the small exhaust housing seems to be in the way.

I tried higher boost with lower timing, lower boost with higher timing, leaner afr's, ect. This was the most i could get away with without getting knock. Im sure I couldve got away with more on 93 octane, but I ran out of gas. This was done on a awd mustang dyno in tucson, az.

Here are my mods:

stock 6 bolt long block - balance shafts eliminated
Aem ems
fic 1150cc injectors
Magnus motorsport -10 fuel rail w/ -6 feed line
255 walbro fuel pump
aeromotive fuel pressure regulator
DNP t4 twin scroll manifold
twin scroll dual ball bearing 61mm - P trim with anti surge housing. Turbine housing is .70
SBR intake manifold
SBR FMIC
Tial bov
3" turbo back
DKS 272 cams
act 2600

I will try E85 soon and I will post the numbers..

Once I figure out how to get the dyno sheets downloaded, I will post them.
If anyone has any suggestions, let me hear them. I would love to make more power on 91 octane.

Its the 2g SBR intercooler. 24inches long, 12 inches high, 3.5 inches deep. I have a 3 inch v-band off of the turbo and its 3 inches all the way back. I know I can get away with a lot more if I use water/injection, but we have e85 here and I rather use that. We will see soon enough.
 
OK guys! I switched to e 85 this afternoon and just finished tuning it. I would have pushed harder, but my fuel system is maxed. Here are the results. 499.5 whp and 401 tq. I also attached my 93 octane and 91 octane pulls below.

Is this some kind of record for stock longblock? Keep in mind this was done on an awd mustang dyno.
 
Only .5 whp and your at the 5hundo mark!! wow! Bravo!
 
Stock block record is a lil over 600awhp, not sure which dyno but regardless, great numbers!

You should try c16 just to see the difference between that and e85.

It wouldnt be a good test because he is out of fuel with the e85. The c16 should make more because he would have more room with fuel.

Anyways very good numbers. There are actually a lot of guys running 500whp on a stock long block. I plan too with my 16, e85 and a 75-100shot of nitrous.

Im running 1150's at 90% duty cycle and one intank walbro 255. Im already planning ahead and I'm thinking of going with a second rail and using my left over 750's and another intank walbro...With a forged bottom end ofcourse. I have my race ported polk performance head on the side waiting to be installed also.

I cant wait to see track numbers because the car feels as though it pull's harder on the top than my other car that went 127. My old car had a 2.3 stroker, race head, non ball bearing pt61, etc . 27 psi and c16
 
499.5?!?!? i would have leaned it out a little more or added a degree of timing and hit 500, just to say you got 500 and didnt bust!


Great numbers! It makes me realize that california 91 octane sucks and i need to figure something else out to be able to run the power i want/need!
 
I actually looked at the min/max values on my dyno sheet today and it was exactly 500 whp. Its odd that it is a little different on the dyno screen.

Im still using my old user name from years ago when 500 was a big deal... for me at least:) Back then, I actually broke the 500 mark with 93 octane and a 50 shot. That was when I was FWD and on a dynojet....I cant believe how much power we are getting out of 93 octane now. Evo guys are well over 600 and I'm pretty sure big al hit 788 once.
 
c16 uses less fuel (injector/pump) than e85.

Exactly and he is maxed out on e85. So if he switches to gas he will make more power since he has more room to work with in the fuel area. If he had more room with the e85 right now than it would be a good test. So the test wouldnt prove anything because more power than he made can be done with e85 like when he goes to an 8 injector setup.

Thats the only issue with e85. Even with 1600's you are going to max out around 600-700whp. My buddy is building a mirage with a 8 injector setup so that fuel is not an issue anymore. But once you start injecting that much fuel into a small cylinder you start to get preignition issues.
