May you post a picture of your PS cooler. I've been thinking about where to locate mine as well.

Mine is tucked in behind the front bumper vents I have. It's seen here mounted in front of my old crap radiator and behind the ghetto intercooler.

It's right behind the driver's side vent in this pic.

Took the car for a test ride last night, well to put a long story short, look at my center diff:

Damn Andy that stinks man. At least you were able to get fixed by morning. Have fun at work on 3 hours sleep :(

Ouch Andy, did you have a 4 spider laying around or settle for the stock center?

Replaced it with another stocker. I REALLY wish i had a 4-spyder on hand. If it breaks again, I will be overnighting a 4-spider. RA is this weekend so I did not really have much time. I wanted it fixed asap so i have time this week yet to prep the car.

Dude, I am so feeling it right now. And i still have that really gross smell of trans fluid in my noise.

That’s alright, at least the car is fixed. I hate it when the dam thing breaks!!! Especially when you have a track day in a few days.

BTW: I'm on my 3rd giant cup of coffee, I'm wide awake!

Oh believe me man. I kow exactlly what you mean about breaking the car before an event soon approaching. It sucks trying to get it back together before the event and not getting prepared the way you would normally do it. You get to the event having that thought in the back of your mind. It sucks. Glad you got it fixed though Andy :thumb:

Ok, so I started on my new gauge plate last night and wanted to share with everyone how it is coming along. talonTSIDriver wanted some update pics as well :D Now, I am no master fabricator, but I believe it will get the job done for me as I need it to.

I started with a peice of cardboard to make my template.

Here is the "hole" in the dash after taking out all the climate control switches, knobs etc.

Put the cardboard up against the hole to make a rough outline of where I need to cut it to fit.

After many, many, many trimmings and resizing marks and more cuts, I came out with this template.

Now, I got out some abs plastic to lay my template down on, trace and cut out the actual plastic peice that will eventually become the new gauge plate.

Once again more trimming with the dremel and resizing fits to make sure of the proper fitment that I wanted, I came out with my new "rough" gauge plate.

Here it is laying next to my cardboard template.

And lastly last night as I stopped to head back in to watch the Red Sox come back from being down 2-4 to the Indians to win 6-4 in the 9th inning, I sprayed it with primer so I can start to layout the gauge positions, drill the holes and then hit it with some flat black before mounting in the car.

Nothing all that dramatic, but its little things like this that need to be done before I can get the car to the shop to start putting all the new go fast goodies on. I will be sometime early this week, getting the gauge wires cleaned up and labeled so I can take them out of their current plate and get them all mounted up cleanly in their new home. I'll post up more pics when I continue on with this project. After I get the gauge plate all mounted up, I will begin on the switch panel that will go beneath it that will house the, fuel pump, fan and ignitions switches later down the line.

They're 285/18's. And the widebody is better than fender flares. Most of my suspension is tubular. The front has some aero work we'll be doing this week then wind tunnel testing afterwards. The brakes just barely clear. They're Alcon XT6 calipers with a 1.375x12.9 rotor. Nothing is photoshopped other than Jess removing the PS cooler line that is hanging down in a few of the pictures. We were still trying to figure out how to do the PS cooling so when we wheeled it out for some early pictures it was still just hanging under the car. Original color was the 95 hunter green (dark green).
Is this Colorado Jake? Nice car man. I need to check it out - were those taken in front of Robert's house? Looks a little familiar...

Really nice job man. Never thought I'd like a body kit like that. Very well done - and it doesn't hurt that it was done for functionality.

Sweet, keep the pics coming! its looking good

Thanks Andy. Hopefully I can finish the gauge panel & switch panel up this week and get the car to the garage sometime next week for the "real" mods to begin. I'll take more pics as I do more work.

p.s. - SLICKS !!!! :D

Ok, so here it is about 98% complete. Still some rough edges to clean up. But overall, I am pleased with the results. Will work out just as I had drawn it out prior to starting this project. Still need to fab up the switch panel to go underneath to fill in the rest of the hole. But that will be easy to do I'm sure. Even left room for the Sponsor Decals :)

i see lots of weight that needs to be removed. :sneaky:

Oh yeah man. All in good time, still loads to do for sure. Just trying to get the things I can do out of the way before it goes in to the shop for a while to get everything done. Including more weight reduction things.

Oh man you will NOT be disappointed. I remember when I first got my JIC's on from John, the car was a completely different animal. My springs are a purple color however, I wonder what the difference is. Anyone?

In what little I've driven the car, I'm amazed. It's a little darty at the moment with the alignment being off (tape measure can only do so much), but man does it respond. It honestly feels like someone took an AWD system and slapped into a Miata. Big task in front of me adapting to so many changes, but I know one thing. The limiting factor isn't the car.

Thanks Cioc for that feedback. It's statements like that, and many others like it, that cinched the deal to go with John. I'm a decent hand under the hood and an aspiring driver, but suspension is one area I'm mystified by. I was fortunate with my first setup being very stable and a good mix, but I was ready to step up. Orlando made the same comment when he notified me that they were being setup on his car. His were also purple. I'm not sure if it's how I filled out my criteria form that made the difference.

Just curious how long have you had yours?
