ok i have a 255lhp fuel pump and 450cc injectors and a sfmu. and this thing is eating gas like it was a beafed up v8. i have no clue what the problem is. i really dont know how to adjust/tune the sfmu. i am also getting a real strong smell of gas from inside the car, and if i put my hand on the exaust tip my hand is black after like ten seconds. another thing that you might need to know is i dont have a downstreem o2 sensor due to not having a cat. its in the mail on its way here, i dont know maybe that will help..... please help me guyes.

Your fuel pressure is way to high. get a good FP gauge, and turn your static FP sown to around 16-20 psi it all depends on the car as to where the sweet spot is. (the bleeder on top of the SFMU is used to lower FP). you also need to make sure your running the correct disk/ring combo in the SFMU, your also going to need to adjust the screws on the side of the sfmu to get the FP to top out at the correct amount, and not keep raising your FP and such. your just running way to high of a FP right now. how is your fuel system setup other than the 450's, 255, and sfmu?

ok i will try that, i need to get the guage first. i honestly dont know anything else about the setup. i am kinda new to this whole thing so im just trying to figure everything out.

I think you need somewhere around a 4-1 disk or a little smaller. If you know what lb they are say 38lb or so you can go to vortechs web site and look at the calibration disk they have or even call them and they will probably tell you which one you need. And as mentioned above to much fuel.

sounds good. i will check that and give them a call. i dont have the disks, this kid sold me the sfmu and it was in his eclipse with the same setup so i just figured it would work.

Another thing to check is your lower injector seals. Those go bad after a while and can lead to gas leaking under your hood...possibly why your smelling gas. You can get the OEM seals at any mitsu dealer for like 6-8 bucks.

i dont think its leaking any gas, the only thing i got leaking is my oil return line, but i am going this weekend to buy parts for that. thanks though, thats a good thing to know
