Saving gas [Merged 3-8]

Alright, our gas prices here locally have sky rocketed like there is no tommorrow. So I have a question, I dont make much money so I wanna save as much gas as possible.

Say im going up a hill about 7% upgrade and im doing about 80km/h (50mph?), in 5th gear to keep it constant im running at 2500rpm and 4-5psi boost, in 4th gear im at 3000rpm and 13inHg in Vaccum. Which one of these will give me better gas mileage, lower rpm in small boost or little bit higher rpm in vaccum.

There all pretty obvious. How much you paying for gas where you live? Unleaded 87 here is $3.24. Premium 93 is around $3.44.

premium is a little under $3.00 here. I think I'm gonna try to get a Quad, CRX, or a civic to this summer. You know how the dsms like to drink the gas away

Wow I cant remember the last time premium was less than $3.00 a gallon here. Then again WI has one of the highest taxes on gas in the U.S.

Its around $4.05 - $4.10 a gallon. Pretty damn expensive.

around 3.50-3.60 for 93 here in east PA, 4.70 ish for diesel.

This is why I would never live in Cali, and the fact that everything else there is expensive.

Jersey is hitting the $3.30 mark for premium soon. I only fill up at BP though. Exxon is overrated. I try to fill up at Jersey but never NY. It's hitting $3.60 I believe for premium.

Right now its around $3.21 for 93 here in South Carolina. Our gas is always about the cheapest you can find in the US . Then again $3.21 isn't really cheap......

That article says not to warm up the car, i dont know if i believe that,yes on a warm day but if its like 10 degrees out, i would warm it up.

Yep, I'm in the same boat, nearly $50 to fill the tank on Chevron Plus...

FAIL:Gas tank heaters/warmers keep the gas at a constant temp no matter how early or cold it is in the morning.

DSMs, and most fuel-injected engines, recirculate the gasoline continuously. It doesn't need heating.
