What are your suggested driving routes in Colorado. Something that isn't boring like driving North on I25.
So far one that I can think of is C470 to Belleview Ave. Take Belleview Ave. west, it will eventually turn into Willow Springs Rd. Willow Springs Rd will then hit HWY 285 (Wadsworth) and you can take a right on that back to C470 or take it to HWY8 to Bear Creek Ave then to Morrison Rd to C470. At work I took that route to get to a customers house and it was very nice. Part of the route is residential, but the customer later explained that hardly anyone knows about that route or that houses are out there. You have to be careful of deer too, I saw plenty the say I went out.

I70 to any place in the mountains is a winner too. I have done that plenty of times with everything but my car. Good way to get a sun tan. :thumb:

c-470 and kipling, take kipling south, turn right on Deer Creek Canyon Rd.
Take that up to Deer Creek Rd, turn left.
Take that till it turns into High Grade Rd
Take it all the way to Conifer

That looks like a good one. Another good short one is Santa Fe to Titan Rd. then take that Rampart Range Rd. Over by Waterton Canyon. Short cruise but not much is around you. It's always nice to get away from it all for a while.

I have a buddy up in Rollinsville and every road in or out of there is a blast to drive on. Try heading up there from Boulder or taking the interstate west to Central City and heading up from there. Finding your way down into Blackhawk from Central City is a PITA but once you do just head north up to Rollinsville. Any road back out of there is a blast.

I just went out with Brent on Santa Fe to Titan to go to Sonic on Rampart Range Road. Lots of hills and elevation changes. It was fun, but too many people on the street! Earlier it was just beautiful out!

Great thread, let's keep this one going!

I'm originally from Colo. Springs. I always enjoyed the twisties of highway 24 through the mountains, but its way to crowded. Fun drive at the right time of night.

Great thread!

turboAWDfanatic - I hear you on Hwy 24. I've left lots of rubber on the short stretch between Manitou and Cascade...at the right time of day I can pull off back-to-back laps, at upwards of 100mph :shhh:

I'm way more interested in carving back roads than shooting down 1/4 tracks. Don't get me wrong, that's fun, but a sweet twisty road is more my cup of tea. So, a couple of my faves are Hwy 24 From CoSpgs to Woodland Park, 67 to Deckers, then 126 to 285. Then, either turn around and do it in reverse, or head south on 285 to Hartsell, 9 to Royal Gorge, 50 to Canon City, and 115 back to the Springs. Another is 7 out of Lyons, 72 to Nederland, 119 to Blackhawk/I-70.

Both of these are not only fun to drive, but beautiful.

Anyone be interested in a back roads meet this spring? I'd definitely go up to the Boulder/Estes area for a day trip.

I second the Flagstaff/Baseline route in Boulder. Its incredibly fun and somewhat technical with hairpins and switchbacks and such. CUSCC, the car club for CU in boulder often makes runs up flagstaff and other mountain runs so if you guys are ever planning one let me know and i can get some guys together for a run.

Yup Rollinsville is a great drive. Be warned in the summer cops are posted for us Crotch Rocket riders though. I also like to take the road in Nederland to Estes park. There is an awesome church castle half way to estes.

So since There are mostly colorado people on here, Does anyone wanna organize a meet. Possibly get a bunch of DSMs together and take a group drive. Sometimes I feel that me and my 2 dsm friends are all alone.
