BW S256 Question

OK I guess I need to be more specific. I'll put up a picture when the camera battery is recharged.

But it's a flanged fitting. The flange part has a hole in the middle, with two bolt holes on the sides. Kind of like a Stock DSM Oil Return flange. But it is threaded on the end for an oil feedline to screw into. If lucky, you might be able to fit a single grain of dry rice through it, if you're real lucky. The hole is TINY.

Is anyone else using this fitting? Just wondering what you all think about the hole size.

Ok guys i got a deal on a BWs258 and i dont want to use the Bolt on housing. I can not seem to find the proper v-band for this turbo. It's off a john deere but i dont know what motor. As you can see all Bullseye dose is shave off the John Deere symbol.

Any idea if it's extended tip? The Bullseye housings are fairly cheap, and you don't have to get a mitsu bolt on housing. Mine I got from them is a T3 housing with V-Band out.

Chances are it may not be. Someone here bought a John deer S258 and a Bullseye S258 and they were totally different when he opened the comp cover on each. The John Deer was not ETT.
 
I know it may not be a ETT but i want the bigger Inducer. I am pretty sure i do not have a 56mm turbo it mesures more like 52mm so that means i have the original Schwitzer ETT they came in 4 sizes i think the biggest being 55mm i do not have that. So right now im on a S252 turbo thats 52mm inducer with the bigger 64/74mm turbine wheel. I hit no more then 40lb/min at 19-20psi so with the bigger 58mm inducer i will get more airflow ETT or not. By the way my turbo that i have now is ET compressor it has a 52mm inducer 80mm exducer its called a S2BG and i see them all the time.

That's the exact same flange that I'm using on mine. I checked with David at Bullseye himself, as well as a BW tech, and both said that the CHRA wanted to see no more than 75 psi oil pressure. I have about 1000 miles on the turbo as it's my DD and everything's fine.
 
Do the bolt-on s256 from bullseye come with a 3" inlet or 4" inlet on the compressor cover? I could have sworn i've seen pictures of both...? Just trying to figure out funds here and if im going to have to get a bigger intake pipe or not.

The non-extended is 3" and the extended tip is 4" with surge ports.

Well then that's good to know. I also noticed today that my oil pressure gauge reads 17-19lbs at the location where the old oil sensor used to be by the oil pump. Now I thought that this was the minimum for a turbo being fed at the oil pump. Now if I put a restrictor inline in the oil feed ,is'nt that gonna cause an oil starvation issue at idle for the turbo being fed if I'm seeing 17-19psi at idle from the oil pump?

You have to remember that a restrictor is meant to limit maximum flow, not minimum. I see ~17.5 psi idling at operating temp and it's fine. You also have to remember that you're not going to be at idle while the turbo is spinning at high speeds, which is when it needs maximum lubrication anyways.

In short, go with the restrictor.

The purpose of the restrictor was also to limit the pressure. It does this BY limiting the flow no?:confused:
Yes after idle I can unerstand the importance of the restrictor,but at idle there is a ? in my mind.
 
Oil pressure to the turbo at idle will depend more on your engine/setup than a restrictor or anything else. Adding the restrictor inline will do nothing to oil pressure at idle.

That's kinda vague but I'll tell you I have no balance shafts.
