That's wright, i need help reaching my performace goal of 450hp. I think the only thing holding me back would be a better turbo. So what would be a good turbo to run around 450hp? Don't want a lot of lag or over kill, and the max boost i can run is 26psi on the portfueler. The turbo i have know is a cheap ebay junk... So maybe a nice 50 trim, i don't know that is why i ask for your help. I'am a noob to a few things and this just so wappens to be one of them..

You should really post this under the N/T tech. At first I would say maybe a 20g but your a FWD car so your going to want a little bit of late spool or you'll roast the tires. Maybe a green with a late shot of NO2. Look at the DSM times and look for comparable setups that will get you in the ballpark. There are alot of variables with just picking a HP.
Hold on Your not making 450 with a 50 trim?

that portfueler thing must be a piece of junk if you can only run 26 psi.. and 26 psi from what turbo? 26 psi on a t25 is no where near 26 psi on gt4202r.. tell us more details, and is your profile up to date ?

My profile is up to date. The turbo i have now is ebay junk, it was like 150.00 new. Don't want to push it and have it to come a part and mess my engine up. I'am in the market for a turbo, just dont know what to get. Yeah the portfuler only allows 26 psi.

Jesus man this questions has been asked 43 million times.

PLease, search. Search search search dude.

You need these primary things:
Built motor- Check out howellautomotive.com.
Fuel set-up- Either Megasuirt n spark or Portfueler
Turbo set-up- You'll need either a 60 trim S16G or S20G.

turbo -? That's where i'am stuck at to many turbos don't know what to go with. I will just bye one and see what happens. I'am thinking of a 60 trim or 60-1

Well awwdynamite put around 440 to the wheels using the portfueler and a garrett t3/t4 with a 60trim compressor and a .63 ar turnine. I think that would be a pretty good choice. Look up his profile to see his dyno chart. It makes the power but isnt the fastest in the world to spool up. My choice would be a gt30r. Practically the same turbo but with ball bearings. It also has a different compressor housing that makes its efficiency range broader. The down side is its about 1300 dollars.

There are many different turbos that can make that much horsepower. Just because you get a turbo that CAN make that much power doesnt mean that you WILL make that much power. Trust me on that one.

It's all about the efficiency of your set-up. If you're looking for low lag, you need to evaluate common lag symptoms that may be in the set-up; rather then the actual turbo.

Ex: I/C pipes, wastegate, intercooler size, turbo size, etc...

First of all, there a very few people who have even made 400 hp. With that I wish you good luck on your goal... As for turbo size I agree with Crab or you could also get a BB T3/T4 hybird.

First off the first couple turbo guys post should just be deleted as they're just wrong and a waste of space. A fp green will spool just as fast as a 20g I know I used to own a fp green. Anyway this is something I'm not new at is turbo selecting as I went threw about 5 with my tsi before I got rid of it. These are the key things you need to look at

1. When you want to hit full boost: A turbo that wil promote traction qnd yet still not be laggy will hit full boost(in 3rd gaer) around 4200rpms.

2. The efficency of a turbo: You can only run 26psi max so you don't want a turbo that only really shines with like 30 psi as you will not get what your looking for even if the turbo is rated to 6-700hp.

3. Even though it kinda falls in place with the first what kinda hot side you want to use(bolt on mitsu,t3,t4?) Choosing a hotside is just as important as the turbo itself. Choosing a 20g with a true t3 hotside will perform diffrent than a 20g with a bolt on mitsu .48ar hotside.

WIth all that said I would look into a gt35r with a bolt on housing. It usualy hit's full boost on a 7:8:1 4g63 at about 42-4500rpms and is rated to like 600whp. It's dual bb so it won't be a turd on the street and at 25psi it should shine just fine.:thumb:

Edit: keep in mind with that you would have to get a new flange welded on to your dp as you probably have a 5 bolt flange on there now with your cheap ebay get up.

did you pick a turbo yet? I wasn't trying to be an ass towards you either in my other post.

I ended up buying a turbonetics 50 trim. I think with my setup @ 26psi, it should make 450 with no probblem. I will have some dyno numbers this spring, so we will see what happens...

What part are we taling about anyway I mean borg makes a lot of stuff I mean I just get standard usualy cause it's easier and I stock it as well as theother warehouses around here. I can still get it like my company has a direct account with their main warehouse but I just never really need to call them.

Lol, the turbos. I just did a group buy through them. The BW's are pretty impressive on paper. "Ball bearing" like spool up and great looking torque lines. There is a thread on tuners about the s256. Seems like a pretty efficient turbo.
